240 ХХ Х II Конвенція СУА At the Woodstock Film Festival (Woodstock, NY), branch members attended a viewing of the film Julia Blue , which was directed by Roxy Toporowych and filmed in Ukraine . Our branch was happy to host a Harvest Brunch at Holy Trinity Church . The brunch was served after the liturgy. A percentage of the proceeds were donated to the church . Branch 95 members participated in a Multicultural Dinner, hosted by the Italian Club of Kingston (Kingston, NY). Sev eral ethnic groups attended this event and the food served at the dinner was representative of the different groups. Members participated in the Tannersville Pharmacy Christmas Crafts sale (Tannersville, NY). Christmas - related crafts were sold at the Holy Trinity Church Christmas Bazaar. Branch members sold handcrafted items and helped sell home baked goods. In 2019 , our branch was asked t o host a luncheon for visiting s eminarians. Branch members prepared and served the meal. This luncheon was made availabl e to all church attendees. A memorial bench was dedicated to Sofia (Sonia) Semanyszyn . Before her illness, Sonia had been branch president for several years . Sonia’s bench is located behind the Kyiv building on Soyuzivka . Our branch hosted a Petrykivka - style paintin g class. This class was held in Holy Trinity church. For a minimal fee, each participant received a canvas and use of the necessary paints and brushes. Once completed, partic i pants were able to take their creation home. A ‘Borscht & K anapky’ brunch was hosted by our branch at Holy Trinity Church. A percentage of the proceeds were donated to the c hurch. The branch participated in the ‘Ole World Christmas’ event and craft fair at the German Club in Kingston, NY. Ukrainian - style Christm as decoration and baked items were sold. Several other ethnic groups were also represented at the event. 2020 started with our members participating in the annual koliada at the Self Reliance C redit U nion and held our annual l uncheon at Soyuzivka. Members from other branch es in our okruha were also invited. The event was well attended and was enjoyed by everyone present. Due to COVID - 19 restrictions during 2020, keeping everyone connected and informed became a challenge. We solved this problem by ha ving remote conference call meetings . This was our way of reaching out to each other and trying to find some normalcy. We enthusiastically parti cipated in the “UNWLA for the USA. Feeding A merica” call for donations. Additionally, several monetary donations were made to support our local food pantries. The Kingston Multicultural Festival was offered remotely thi s year, and once again Branch 95 participated. Mary Panchyshyn The Members of Branch 95 extend Best wishes to the UNWLA for a successful C onvention! Mnohaya Lita!
