Соломії Крушельницької вітає союзянок і гостей ХХХІІ Конвенції СУА! _________________________________________________________________________ UNWLA BRANCH 54, WILMINGTON, DELAWARE PHILADELPHIA REGIONAL COUNCIL Branch 54 celebrated its 60 th anniversary in 2018! The celebration event was a time to gather, reminisce, and celebrate all that we have accomplished in our community in the United States and for Ukraine during those 60 years. In our celebration, we were joined by guests from UNWLA Na tional Board and Philadelphia Regional Council, by pastors of both churches in Wilmington, and by family and friends. We honored our active 60 - year member Maria Korzeniwsky. During the past three years, we supported fundraisers of UNWLA: made donations to aid wounded soldiers in Ukraine; collected funds to help people affected by the floods in Ukraine in 2020; and donated to Feeding America during the COVID - 19 pandemic in the U.S. We provided aid to Basilian nuns in Ukraine and sent them more than 30 packag es of clothing to distribute to needy families and the elderly. Our members support the UNWLA Scholarship program by sponsoring students in Ukraine, from elementary school to university. In August, we organized the com - memoration of the anniversary of Ukraine’s indepen dence and worked with the mayor of Wilmington to issue a proclamation. We commemorate the anniversary of the Holodomor every November by participating in the panakhyda services at our Ukrainian churches. We visit our elderly and former members during Christmas and Easter. We support and participate in the activities of our Philadelphia Regional Council. To raise money for our activities, every Sunday we hold ba ke sales in church that are very successful.
