ХХ Х II Конвенція СУА 133 The Ivan Bohun Military Lyceum, located in Boyarka, outside Kyiv, is an educational military institution. The Lyceum presents a three - year training period for students who follow a routine school curriculum, as well as military training. The Lyceum is especially proud of the school military band that performs at patriotic ceremonies, including the laying of wreaths at gr aves of soldiers, and participates in parades. In September 2019, the first female cadets of were admitted to the Lyceum. UNWLA is supportive of Lyceum requests for aid. In 2018, five washing machines and dryers were supplied and in September 2020, the Lyc eum was presented with 15 notebook computers for a lab. ___________________________ Observing students at the Ivan Bohun Military Lyceum An inspirational project began in Severodonetsk , a city in eastern Ukraine, Luhansk region, in 2017. Under leadershi p of Rev. Yuriy Yurchyk, the community combined their skills to renovate a building to house a Ukrainian Catholic Church and create a spiritual - cultural center, including a center, which will be a major element to help sustain Ukrainian community life. Lit urgy is celebrated, and activities for youth and the elderly are scheduled regularly. UNWLA has donated $25,000 towards this effort. In May 2019, the church, Assumption of the Mother of God and the center, Spiritual Social Center of Pope Francis, were bles sed with our representative, Dr. Vasyl Pazyniak presenting a gift in UNWLA’s name. ______________________________________________ A visit to the building in Severodonetsk that is being renovated into a church and community center. Dzherelo Children’s Rehabilitation Centre provides a program of services for children and youth with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism, ADHD and other developmental disabilities. The Centre is a state - of - the - art facility that recently added a sensorimotor room and wood workshop. Inclusion in typical schools has become an important component of the Dzherelo program and several children have already made the transition to a typical school. Yulia Wozniuk, winner of Miss Ukrainian New Jersey in November 2018, as pa rt of the humanitarian aspect of the project, brought $10,000 from Headquarters to the Centre. _________________________________ Children at the Dzherelo Rehabilitation Centre
