ХХ Х II Конвенція СУА 121 the Stalin - organized famine, the Ho lodomor, as “the classic example of Soviet genocide ... the destruction of the Ukrainian nation .” • A ttended the Holodomor exhibit at United Nations Headquarters in D ecember 2018 hosted by the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the United Nations . • In March 20 19, attended a Holo domor exhibit at the Shrewsbury Library in NJ organized by Branch 98 of Matawan. Membe rs of the UNWLA National Board at the “Thank - you Reception” organized by the Shevchenko Scientific Society in New York City . • Together with several other members of the UNWLA National Board, attended a “Thank - you Re - ception” organized by the Shevchenko Scientific So - ciety in New York City during which the UNWLA was honored for co - sponsoring scholarship efforts in Ukraine. • Together with Marianna Zajac and other members of the National Board, attended the UNA 125 th Anniversary Concert held November 2019, an event for which the UNWLA was one o f the major sponsors. Commemorative Holodomor Activities The UNWLA has always worked hard to increase aw areness of the Holodomor among the public , as well as among the Ukrainian - American community. In that spirit , I continued to work on Holodomor - related efforts. • Together with Marianna Zajac and several other Executive Committee members, par t icipated in the Holodomor March to St. Patrick’s Cathedral in November of 2017. • In early 2018, organized and formed the New Jersey Committee of the US Co m mittee for Ukrainian Holodomor Genocide Awareness • Obt ained a proclamation from the New Jersey Legislature recognizing the Ho lodomor as ge - nocide against the Ukrainian people.
