ХХ Х II Конвенція СУА 113 When requested, I sent hramoty to commemorate branch and Regional Council anniversaries. I also emailed membership applications to branch es that requested them. On several occasions, I traveled to Chicago. During one visit, Valentyna Tabaka and I visited the Chicago Regional Council during their March 2017 monthly meeting. The ne xt day we attended the fashion show sponsored by the Chicago Regional Council, Ґердан, намисто перемоги ( Gerdan , Talisman of Triumph) , where we represented the Executive C ommittee. During this fashion show , te enagers and young women modeled beautiful gerdany . This event honored Dr. Ulyana Suprun, Ukraine’s Minister of Health and founder of the “Patriot Defense” organization. She joined the festivities , addressing the audience in a virtual presentation. The fash ion show also sponsored an exhibit and sa le of Masha Archer’s jewelry pr esented by her daughter. On February 25, 2018 , I again traveled to Chicago where I attended an event titled “Remember the Heavenly Hundred” that featured Olesya Zukovska , a nurse who survived a sniper shot to her neck , and Anatolij Matviychuk publicist, poet, composer . Together they gave a moving program that took one back to the time on the Maidan. During another visit, I attended a meeting of the newly formed Branch 140. I was greeted warmly by the enthusiastic young new members who braved the elements during a snow blizzard to meet with me. Finally, the last visit was to represent the Executive Com mittee at the Chicago Regional Council Annual Meeting in 2019 where all procedures were carried out with the utmost perfection and organization. During a break, we were all treated to a delicious luncheon at the Ukrainian Cultural Center. Before each UNW LA Convention , there are many planning stages. This year is no exception. For this and the previous convention, I was involved with sending out circulars regarding Golden 50 - year M ember awards, Branch Special Recognition awards, branch and Regional Council anniversaries, Honored Member awards and sometime s Honorary Member awards to non - UNWLA members. For the previous convention , I prepared and announced the Cultural Awards to members on behalf of Cultural C hair, Sophia Hewryk who was unable to attend. Duri ng one of the sessions , I was involved in the presentation on the topic “How to Run a M eeting” along with Vera Kushnir and Orysia Zinycz. I was on the committee that planned the Friday evening “Member Appreciation Reception and Program ,” a member meet - and - greet where all first - time convention attendees were welcomed . There was a map where members marked their locations, played a UNWLA trivia game, enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine , and watched a colorful, humorous presentation about “Kozak Wome n” courtesy of the UNA. This was truly a joyful event and was a fantastic way to start the XXXI Convention. I attended the BAL elections as a delegate. On Sunday, Roksolana Misilo, Vice President for Public Relations and I presented a t a “ Leadership a nd Mo tivation” session. At this c onvention , I participated in the roundtable , attended the BAL elections and the MAL meeting.
