86 ХХХІ Конвенція СУА chaired by WFUWO President, Orysia Sushko, and aimed at analyzing current and pressing issues for this umbrella organization. WFUWO’s annual meetings reinforce the common threads of Ukrainian women of all countries - caring for our families, communities, and our nation – and allow us to make lifelong friend- ships. In September 2015, upon the generous invitation of the Ukrainian Women’s League of Sweden, the WFUWO annual meeting was held in Stockholm. Alongside myself, three UNWLA delegates attend- ed: First Vice President Roma Shuhan, Honorary President Iryna Kurowyckyj, and Branch 64 member and WFUWO main representative to the UN Dr. Marta Kichorowska-Kebalo. Among the guests from Ukraine were Dr. Liudmyla Porokhniak Hanowska, President of the National Council of Women of Ukraine, and Dr. Oreslava Khomyk, President of the Women’s League of Ukraine. I presented a 60-page PowerPoint report on the UNWLA’s multi-faceted work of the past calendar year. The President of the Ukrainian Women’s League of Sweden, Zoriana Kiktsio, arranged a private meeting with Ihor Sahach, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Sweden. The UNWLA received several certificates of appreciation: from Lieutenant Colonel Prashnyk of the Aidar Battalion for the financial and humanitarian aid to his wounded volunteers in the military hospi- tal in Kharhiv; from the Director of the L’viv Health Department, Dr. Bohdan Chechotka, for the humani- tarian aid to the wounded from the ATO zone; from Dr. Ihor Hajda, Director of the Military Hospital of Western Ukraine for the humanitarian and financial aid give to the freedom fighters of Ukraine treated in his hospital; and from the Ukrainian Women’s League of Ukraine for the financial aid and moral support of the wounded and hospitals caring for them. I was very proud to receive these awards on behalf of the UNWLA and its many generous donors. On August 21–23, 2016, the WFUWO held its annual meeting at the Kozatskyj Hotel in central Kyiv. President Orysia Sushko presided over the reporting of the attending organizations – WFUWO is comprised of 30 organizations in 20 countries on 4 continents. This year’s meeting took place around the 25 th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence and attendees participated in all planned events.
