Pawlenko, Anna Poruchynsky, Christina Oertling, Jaroslawa Kochman, Natalie Pawlenko The highlight of 2014 was the XXX UNWLA Convention held in Tarrytown, NY. Branch 98 members Anna Krawczuk, the late Maria Polanskyj, and M. Orysia Jacus attended. Both Anna Krawczuk and Maria Polanskyj were honored with Certificates of Appreciation and gold 50 th Anniversary pins for their membership and service to the UNWLA. Maria Polanskyj, as the UNWLA Scholarship National Chair, presented citations to all the UNWLA Scholarship Standing Committee members: M. Orysia Ja- cus, Luba Bilowchtchuk, and Anna Krawczuk of Branch 98, Dr. Daria Nowakiwsky Lissy of Branch 94, and Victoria Mischenko, office administrator, all of whom were integral to the success of the program. Branch 98 President Nadia Jaworiw became a Scholarship Committee member in 2016 after having been a volunteer for a few years. In keeping with these honors, Branch 98 sent festive gift baskets to Anna Krawczuk and Maria Polanskyj to further acknowledge the service of our devoted members. The year saw Branch 98 engaged in a number of activities. During the year we conducted our an- nual fundraisers: a Christmas party at the home of member Halyna Jakubowycz, and gift-wrapping at a local Barnes & Noble bookstore. We also enjoyed a summer picnic at the home of our Treasurer, M. Ory- sia Jacus. Five Branch 98 members continued to volunteer administering the Scholarship Program. Through the renewal of sponsorships, donations, and Branch 98 fundraising, $11,310.46 was credited to our branch’s efforts in 2014. The branch supported two stipends, and its members supported 20 stipends. Nine members personally sponsored 13 students. Our Social Welfare efforts included a donation of $525 from the branch and individual members to the Ukrainian War Victims fund. The year 2015 began with our annual meeting, which included the election of officers for 2015- 2017. Our newly elected President was Nadia Jaworiw, and Vice-President, Luba Bilowchtchuk. M. Ory- sia Jacus was re-elected Treasurer, and Irene Krawczuk was re-elected Secretary. Appointments were made to the Audit, Social Welfare, and Scholarship Committees.
