ХХХI Конвенція СУА 171 5) COMMUNICATION: Maintain and update BAL contact information Over these past years, I have established a contact list which I keep updated, especially following branch elections. The updated list is sent to all BAL presidents and to UNWLA National Headquar- ters. 6) TELECONFERENCES: Conducting quarterly teleconferences Teleconferences are held quarterly. During teleconferences, we share information about branch activi- ties, exchange ideas, ask questions about issues at hand, and talk openly about our successes and con- cerns. I believe that open and positive communication has been established. Presidents freely give suggestions and ideas when situations call for additional input. The quarterly teleconferences have been a great success. Presidents felt that the teleconferences were informative and that the time was well spent. I personally felt very positive about the teleconferences because this was another way of connecting branches and building a stronger bond among BAL presidents. 7) ANNUAL REPORTS: Communication and maintaining annual reports After receiving the annual reports from UNWLA headquarters, for ease and in order to have quick access to report forms, I scanned the reports and sent the scans to all presidents. Questions regarding the reports were answered. Sending reminders of report due dates was helpful to presidents. Once I received the branch reports, I reviewed them, made a hard copy, scanned a copy of each re- port, and filed the reports by branch number. Having a scanned copy allows for easier retrieval and updating when necessary. All completed annual branch reports are forwarded to UNWLA headquarters. 8) FINANCE: Ensure and maintain IRS tax-exempt status Each branch must file the tax-exempt form each year. During teleconferences and in e-mails, I re- minded branch presidents to file the tax-exempt form in order to maintain their tax-exempt status. I maintained accurate records of the tax-exempt status of all branches. 9) FINANCE: Confirm with the UNWLA Treasurer/Financial Secretary that annual BAL dues are paid on time and in full It is the responsibility of every branch to pay all annual dues and branch obligations. During the tele- conferences, I spoke about these responsibilities. All branches paid their dues. One branch did not pay the additional obligations. I contacted the president of the branch that paid only the annual dues. After much discussion and brainstorming on ways to raise money, the branch president stated that they will raise their dues and will have special fundraisers in order to raise money to pay for branch obligations. UNWLA is grate- ful to the president for her hard work and dedication. 10) CONVENTION: Keeping BAL presidents informed about the 2017 Convention I have forwarded information regarding the convention to all presidents and have encouraged them and their delegates to attend the convention, which is being held in May 2017, in Tampa, Florida. Questions posed by the presidents regarding the convention were answered. Four Florida branches are on the Convention Committee. We have been working very closely plan- ning and sharing ideas in order to ensure a successful convention. I am on this committee. 11) CONVENTION: Convention, information regarding the Hramoty (Certificates) I have spoken to Christa Boyko about the types of Hramoty (award certifcates) that can be presented at the convention. Branch presidents will know in advance which type of award can be presented in order to submit the names of recipients in a timely fashion. She will notify us of award titles.
