132 ХХХІ Конвенція СУА 4. Served as emergency contact for two Patriot Defence instructors from Ukraine who were sent to Massachusetts for First Responder Training. Also introduced the instructors to the pastor of Christ the King Church in Boston so they could meet local Ukrainians. 5. Participated in conference calls with the SW Work Group of SKU. Valentyna Tabaka: 1. Worked tirelessly in her branch to help the needy victims of the war. 2. Visited Ukraine on many occasions and personally helped those in need financially. 3. It was through her that the UNWLA learned about the dire need for new laboratory equipment in the Zhytomyr Military Hospital. Soldiers were dying of infections that could not be diag- nosed in time. 4. Was instrumental in procuring, at the lowest possible cost, blood analyzers and high- power microscopes. 5. Organized a branch of Soyuz Ukraiinok in Zhytomyr, which is now a great promoter of the UNWLA. They make sure that Ukrainians there are aware of how much work we do. My deepest gratitude extends to all the leaders and members of our organization, for their love of Ukraine, be it the land of their birth or the land of their forefathers. They have donated and worked end- less hours to better the lives of Ukrainian wounded soldiers and their families, orphans, the elderly, burn victims, and those who desperately need our help. Most especially, I would like to thank UNWLA President Marianna Zajac for her guidance and abiding devotion to Social Welfare issues. Thanks to her interest and encouragement, many projects have flourished and aided disadvantaged Ukrainians. Working in the capacity of Social Welfare Chair, I have been touched to the bottom of my heart and soul by those who suffer and those who give of themselves wholeheartedly to help them – our mem- bers. I bow before you. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve.
