My panel was entitled “Sounding the Alarm for Ukraine, Europe, and Russia Campaign.” December 13, 2016 – National Council of Women of the US emergency board meeting confer- ence call, led by President Lauren Collin, pertaining to the organization’s end-of-year financial crisis. December 18, 2016 – UNWLA NJ Region Christmas Den Soyuzianky held at St. John’s Church, Newark, NJ. Spoke briefly, thanking the membership for all they do. Guest Speaker December 6, 2014 – was guest speaker at the WFUWO and UNWLA-sponsored discussion of “The Ukraine Conflict and Wartime Gender Violence” at 5 p.m. at the UNWLA headquarters in NYC. My topic as UNWLA VP of Public Relations was “The UNWLA War Victims Fund.” Nadiya Savchenko Highlights December 2014 – organized a meeting at The Ukrainian Museum for UNWLA members with Nadiya Savchenko’s lawyers, Mark Feygin and Nikolai Polozov. They informed us of her current situation and their request for POW status for her. January 2015 – with UNWLA President Marianna Zajac, organized an ad-hoc teleconference with leaders of Ukrainian organizations in the NYC area regarding how to ensure the success of “Global Nadiya Savchenko Day” on January 26, 2015. February 2015 – received permission from Nadiya Savchenko’s lawyers to print the drawing she sent the UNWLA in Our Life . March 8, 2015 – showed solidarity with Nadiya Savchenko by participating in a worldwide hun- ger strike. April 19, 2015 – Mass for Nadiya Savchenko’s health and release at St. John the Baptist Church in Newark, NJ. Afterward, took part in the event by giving a presentation on Nadiya Savchenko’s current situation and disseminating the UNWLA brochures on her. April 20, 2015 – meeting with Nadiya Savchenko’s lawyer, Mark Feygin, and the diaspora at The Ukrainian Museum to fill us in on the latest developments surrounding her. September 9, 2015 – email thanking Ambassador Samantha Power for including Nadiya Savchenko in the Beijing + 20 Twenty, to be profiled before the Beijing + 20 conference advocat- ing women’s empowerment in September at the UN. September 20, 2016 – an evening for our members with Nadiya Savchenko in person at UNWLA headquarters in NYC. Escorted by Lyudmyla Kozlovska, President of the Open Dialogue Foun- dation based in Warsaw, Poland, which produces reports on human and international rights viola- tions, international advocacy campaign Let My People Go. NS called for sanctions against Rus- sian officials, created the Savchenko List: 37 Ukrainians remain in prison. Holodomor Committee – November 6-8, 2015 April, May, June, August, October 2015 – represented the UNWLA as a member of the U.S. Committee for Ukrainian Holodomor-Genocide Awareness 1932-33 at teleconferences planning the Holodomor monument blessing and festivities weekend in Washington, DC, led by Michael Sawkiw Jr. of UNIS. I chaired the volunteer subcommittee and was in charge of co-coordinating all volunteers at Friday evening’s gala, all day Saturday at the Holodomor Memorial Event, and Sunday at the Holodomor Memorial Concert. November, December 2015 – recap, going forward. January, February, March, April, May 2017 – U.S. Committee for Ukrainian Holodomor- Genocide Awareness 1932-33 conference calls. The 85 th anniversary of Holodomor will kick off Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at the Holodomor Memorial in Washington, DC, and on Saturday, November 18, 2017, with a march from St. George Church to St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC. My Trip to Ukraine to Represent the UNWLA – August 16-31, 2016 Ukraine trip with UNWLA President Marianna Zajac.
