ХХХI Конвенція СУА 101 Кожного року СУА надає шість нагород на дві тисячі долярів. Уже 36 нагород роздано. У своєму листі до СУА проф. Н. Торкун описала мету конкурсу – потребу повернути сучасних молодих студентів України до культурних цінностей західного світу. Всі наукові праці виконуються в українській мові – результати конкурсу поміщуються в Інтернеті (www,shakespeare,zp.ua). УКРАЇНСЬКИЙ КАТOЛИЦЬКИЙ УНІВЕРСИТЕТ (УКУ) У 2012 році завдяки фінансуванню СУА засновано Лекторій жіночих студій в УКУ. Координатором цієї програми є д-р Галина Теслюк. Директором програми є д-р Марта Богачевська-Хомяк. Лекторій втішається популярністю та успіхом не тільки між студентами, але також в громаді. В нинішні дні розглядається можливість поширення програми і створення Центру жіночих студій при УКУ. Створення такого центру дасть можливість для більшої активности жіночих студій. В 2016 р. в УКУ під зарядом Лекторію жіночих студій, розроблено проєкт у пам’ять Лесі Кузик – «Усна історія: українські жінки в військовому конфлікті на Сході України (2014-2016 роки)». З березня 2015 року щомісяця приготовляю ілюстрації до обкладинок журналу “Наше Життя”. Як член Управи Українського Музею, очолюю Програмовий комітет УМ. _______________________________________ SOPHIA K. HEWRYK THIRD VICE PRESIDENT FOR CULTURE As the Third Vice President of the UNWLA, I adhered to the responsibilities established at the XXX Convention in 2014. Since its inception, our organization has undergone many changes. With the rebirth of Ukraine’s independence, our priorities shifted to supporting and cooperating with Ukraine. At the same time, the UNWLA’s membership is being renewed with new arrivals from Ukraine. Thus UNWLA mem- bership continues to include all generations and all waves of immigrants. We have the following responsibilities: 1. Retention of Ukrainian identity 2. Study and propagation of Ukrainian culture 3. Preservation of Ukrainian language in our organization 4. Planning and coordination of the UNWLA publication program The resolutions adopted at the XXX Convention include: 1. Continue Lesia and Petro Kovaliv competition 2. Continue sponsorship of Shakespearean competition in Ukraine 3. Investigate the possibility of phased transformation of Lectureship in Women’s Studies at Lviv’s 4. Ukrainian Catholic University into a Center of Women’s Studies Lesia and Petro Kovaliv Fund The Kovaliv Fund in support of Ukrainian science and literature was established in the UNWLA in 1967. This year marks the 50 th anniversary of the Fund. Petro and Lesia Kovaliv came from central Ukraine. Until 1919, Petro Kovaliv worked as a diplomatic attaché of the Ukrainian People’s Republic in Holland and Belgium. The Kovalivs subsequently relocated to Switzerland, where on the occasion of their
