94 ХХ Х Конвенція СУА Membership Statistics The UNWLA is currently organized into eight Regional Councils encompassing 52 b ranches, with an additional 1 8 as B ranches - at - L arge for a total of 70 branches . The North New York Regional Council, established in 1955, was dissolved at the request of its fiv e branches, at the UNWLA National Board Annual Meeting on November 2, 2013. Branches 49 and 97 (Buffalo), Branch 68 (Syracuse), Branches 46 and 120 (Rochester) transferred to Branches - at - Large status. The current membership count as of March 2014 is approx imately 1 ,900 paid members, which includes 1 8 0 Members - at - Large. Granted, this method may give us an undercount. However, dues pay- ments are still the most consistently reliable means to maintain the membership count. Overall, the UNWLA has experienced a s ignificant loss of members. Fortunately, this trend has been offset by gains achieved through successful membership recruitment and retention efforts over the past three years. I especially enjoyed working with motivated and enthusiastic Branch and Regional Council pres- idents and Membership Chairs. Your dedication is amazing and has always inspired me. My sincere appre- ciation to Lidia Slysh for her timely editing and proofing of submitted materials, and to the office adminis- trator, Olha Stasiuk, for maintaining the m embership database . Finally, I offer unconditional support to my successor and have prepared files for her, which I hope she finds helpful. New members are the future of our organization! The current membership is our foundation! Both groups demand our attention!
