These include: Branches 119 and 127 (New York), Branches 71 and 92 (New Jersey), Branch 33 (Ohio), and Branch 74 (Chicago). We mourn these losses and regret that not enough was done to recruit replacements among daughters, daughter s - in - law, and granddaughters to sustain the viability of such historic branches. But we can show our appreciation for their work and dedication by awarding certificates of recognition . We strongly encourage the presi- dents of branches and Regional Council s to use annual meetings and milestone anniversary events to pub- licly acknowledge long - term members and to recognize individual accomplishments. Certificates commemorating important anniversaries and events were presented either by me or other officers of the UNWLA National Board to the following: Branch 49 (Buffalo, NY) – 80 th anniversary Philadelphia Regional Council – 75th a nniversary Branch 33 ( Ohio ) – 60 th a nniversary and individual award certificates Branch 73 (Bridgeport, Conn.) – 50 th anniversary Branch 78 (Washington, DC) – 50 th anniversary Branch 53 (Detroit) – 40 th anniversary Branch 75 (New Jersey) – 40 th anniversary Branch 30 (Yonker s, NY) – 25 th anniversary Branch 98 (New Jersey) – 25 th anniversary Branch 133 (New Jersey) – Membership Charter Branch 134 (Whippany, New Jersey) – Membership Charter Branch 135 (Perth Amboy, New Jersey) – Membership Charter Branch 136 (Naples, Florida) – Membership Charter Strengthening UNWLA Internal Operations Whenever possible, I assisted the UNWLA President and the National Board in organizational issues that impacted the functioning and management of the organization for the purpose of continuously strengthening the in ternal operations of the UNWLA.
