Sofia Hewryk, 3rd Vice President for Cultural Affairs : The prestigious Kovaliv Award continues to be Ms . Hewryk’s main focus. However, she has also been instrumental in the process of finalizing an agree- ment with the Ukrainian Catholic University regarding the Women’s Studies Lectureship. Her knowledge in all things concerning the Ukrainian art and cultural spheres are indispensable to u s. Lidia Bilous, 4 th Vice President for Public Relations: Ms . Bilous has been extremely effective a nd busy in the past a half year — she has either personall y written or spearheaded letter - writing campaigns to Washington, D . C ., regarding the evolving situations in Ukraine. In addition, Ms . Bilous has been the pub- lic relations motor for the XXX Conv ention, authoring articles on this theme for Our Life or writing press releases for the Convention. Daria Drozdovska, Recording Secr etary: Ms . Drozdovska has taken care of all official communica- tions, such as Christmas/New Year greetings, celebratory and condolence cards, in a p rofessional and timely manner — always accompanied by a warm smile. Nadia Cwiach, Treasurer: Ms. Cwiach has be en in charge of all entries into our accounting software as well as of communication with the Certified Public Accountant in charge of our annual audits. In addi- tion, her duties have included all IRS and New York State payroll filings. Roma Shuhan, Financ ial Secretary: Ms . Shuhan has proven to be indispensable in the effective and efficient running of our administrative offices — she need never be asked to take care of any problems arising, whether they be the telephone or the roof. She always takes the init iative and follows through un- til completion. As Financial Secretary, she prepares all dues statements as well as annual budgets. Vera Kushnir, Member - at - Large : Ms. Kushnir has been instrumental in all projects re quiring event - planning skills — each annual N ational Board meeting is arranged by her and, when it was decided that the XXX UNWLA Convention would be driven by the Executive Committee because of the proximity to New York City, Ms. Kushnir once again took the lead. She is also available for any reques ts the President may have. Mariya Andriyovych, Member - at - Large: Ms . Andriyovych has made herself available for any project assigned and fulfills any request in a timely and successful manner. During the planning of the XXX Convention, Ms. Andriyovych is in charge of all p erformances throughout the four - day program. She is also available for any requests the President may make. I feel obliged but also very privileged to thank the National Board and all Regional Council pres- idents for their cooperation, dedication , and suppor t over the past three years. We ha ve called our mem- bers to come together for several large p rojects during this past term — and they ha ve reacted quickly and positively to both the Women’s Studies Lectureship and the Maidan Huma nitarian Aid project. Thank you ! I invite everyone to read each individual rep ort written by Regional Presidents and Chairpersons of the Standing Committees in order to fully understand the breadth of their accomplishments and that of the UNWLA as a whole.
