The 2013 Executive Board for Branch 118 was unanimously voted into office at the beginning of the year with Martha Noukas as President, Olga Dub as Vice Pre - sident, Halya Seniw as Treasurer, and Pam Uschak as Secretary. Once again, Branch 118 agreed to co - sponsor the Ukrainian Easter Bazaar with Pokrova Ukraini- an Catholic Church as the church has been undergoing financial diffic ulties. As a result, Branch 118 has suffered a significant loss in fundraising income. Regardless, the bazaar was successful, and a great time was had by all. Despite the loss of proceeds, Branch 118 was able to provide financial assistance to many in nee d. We supported the UNWLA Scholarship Fund sponsoring Evhen Osadchij ($330.00) in his studies in Ukraine. In November, Branch 118 received notice that Evhen Osadchij had completed his studies at the Institute of Shipbuilding. Branch 118 provided a total of $300.00 in stipends to three students of Rid- na Shkola in Houston. Yuri Cleveland, Roman Cleveland, and Andrew Spring received $100 each upon their graduation in May of 2013. We provided financial assistant to Elenora Kolodij, a citizen of L’viv, with a gi ft of $200.00 to help with medicine for her illness. Branch 118 provided Social Welfare in the amount of $100.00 to Maria Zhuk, a hard - working member of the Houston community and supporter of Branch 118. The money was given to lend support to Maria Zhuk’s family in Ukraine after her mother had passed away. A branch meeting was held on July 28, 2013, where old business was addressed, and plans for the remainder of the year were discussed.
