ХХ Х Конвенція СУА 119 MARIYA ANDRIYOVYCH MEMBER - AT - LARGE Over the reporting period of 2011 - 2014, as a Member - at - Large of the UNWLA Executive Com- mittee , I assisted UNWLA President Marianna Zajac and other members of the Executive Committee with various tasks and projects as needed. I maintained regular communication with Presidents of the Re- gional Councils of Central New York and New England — Maria Cade and Slava Horbaty re spectively — to keep them informed about the work of the Executive Committee and to get updates about their Region- al Councils. As Vice Chair of the XXX Convention Committee, I worked together with Vira Kushnir, the Chair of the said Committee, to prepare the event; I was also elected Chair of the Convention Program Committee. Upon request from UNWLA President Marianna Zajac, I wrote an official greeting from our or- ganization to the 61st Zdvyh of the Ukrainian Youth Association CYM which took place on August 3 1 - September 2, 2012, in Ellenville, NY. I attended rallies in New York, NY: on July 12, 2012, I took part in a protest against the new leg- islation adopted in Ukraine which limited the status of the Ukrainian language; and on September 26, 2012, I attended a rally protesting the actions of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych. The UNWLA members who participated in these protests did not support any particular political views; they joined the demonstrations to defend human rights of the citizens of Ukraine. Between December 2013 and February 2014, I actively participated in a number of rallies to support the struggle of the Ukrainian people and to protest against the crimes and corruption of the government of Viktor Yanukovych. I assisted Vira Kushnir and R oma Shuhan in the organization of the annual meeting of UNWLA National Board, which took place on February 1 - 3, 2013. On September 12, 2013, together with UNWLA President Marianna Zajac and other members of the UNWLA Executive Committee , I attended the cel ebration of the 22nd anniversary of Ukraine’s inde- pendence at the Ukrainian Institute of America, sponsored by Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Yuriy Sergeev. On September 15, 2013, I was among the UNWLA members who attended the celebration of Ukraine’s independence organized by the Women’s Association for the Defense of Four Freedoms of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Youth Association CYM, and UNWLA Regional Council of New York. Together with First Vice President Ulana Zinych, I ensured that the pr esidents of all UNWLA Regional Councils and Branches of the New York City Regional Council, their financial secretaries and membership committee chairs were invited to the meeting that was organized for them on October 5, 2013, at the UNWLA Headquarters in New York. I printed flyers about UNWLA fundraising campaign launched on December 8, 2013, for the hu- manitarian needs of the protesters in Kyiv. I also helped distribute these flyers in Ukrainian churches and among the participants of the rallies organize d in New York in support of Ukrainian citizens. Sent out emails and informed Maria Cade, President of RC New York Central, about this fundraising. Made plans with Halyna Romanyshyn, president of RC New York City, to forward this information to the presiden ts of New York - based Branches. In addition, I used every opportunity to spread the information about this campaign among my friends. In the first days of the initiative, I collected $540 for the campaign. On December 14, 2013, I was delegated by the UNWLA President to represent the Executive Committee at the Lighting of the Christmas Tree, organized by our New York Regional Council. I kept in touch with the chairs and members of different Convention Committees and informed them about meetings organized by C hair of the Convention Committee Vira Kushnir on September 28, 2013, and March 1, 2014. On February 5, 2014, I presented a report about the ongoing preparation for the XXX Convention at the meeting of the New York City Regional Council. As Chair of the Convention Program Committee, I worked together with other members of the committee from Branch 125, New York, NY, to select performers for the Convention banquet, dinner, and luncheons. Sent letters to Bishop Paul Chomnycky and Metropolita n Antony asking them to delegate
