National Student Competition for the Best Research Project in Shakespeare Studies orga- nized by the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The competition is supervised by Prof. Natalia M. Torkun from Zaporizhzhia and has been held four times since 2009. In their letter to the UNWLA, the administrative board of the Renaissance Studies Labo ratory and Shakespeare Studies Center in Kherson explained their objectives — to popularize the cultural heritage of the Western world among young people of Ukraine. The UNWLA committed to sponsor the first three prizes for this competition. The competi- tion is open to college and university students in Ukraine who want to submit their individual essays re- lated to Shakespeare Studies. All the submitted works should be written in Ukrainian. The final results are published on the website of the Ukrainian Shakesp eare Portal (www.shakespeare.zp.ua). IV. Serving on the Board of Trustees of the Ukrainian Museum in New York . As a member of the Board of Trustees, I serve on the UM Collection Committee and the UM Program Committee. During the reporting period, the museum collection purchased the portfolio of artist Oleksandr Hryshchenko (since 1971). The collection also acquired 27 political posters from the early 1920s thanks to the generous gift from Dr. Y. Rybak. I assisted in the planning and organization of thr ee exhibitions: The Ukrainian Museum: 35 Years in Print (all the UM catalogs since the museum’s foundation in 1975), Hutsul and Black - Smoked Ceram- ics (from the UM and private collections), and Posters from EuroMaidan. _________________________________ _
