February 2006. The NGO Committee for the Family, New York, sponsored a panel discussion at the United Nations on Addressing Global Poverty: What Works for Families. At the invitation of Nadia Shmigel, WFUWO representative to the UN, Honorary President Anna Krawczuk participated and presented a report based on the activities and success of the UNWLA Scholarship Program entitled. Entitle Enhancing and Creating Opportunities Through Education and Scholarships, her presentation was very well received and a lively discussion followed. The text of her presentation was published in Our Life magazine, and a write-up about this event was also featured in The Ukrainian Weekly. March 2006. At the invitation of the UNWLA Chicago Regional Council, I represented the UNWLA Executive Board at their annual meeting. My presentation focused on our program and included a UNWLA Scholarship Program photo exhibit. June 2006. At the invitation of UNWLA Branch 86, I delivered a speech and exhibited photographs of the UNWLA Scholarship Program. I met with members of UNWLA Branch 98 to discuss our program and exhibit. While visiting Los Angeles, California, with Anna Krawczuk, I met with members of UNWLA Branch 111 and received a very warm welcome. During this visit, we had the opportunity to showcase the photo exhibit and present information about the UNWLA Scholarship/Children-Student Sponsorship Program. August 2006.1 attended memorial and funeral services for UNWLA Honorary member, Sophia Andrushkiw, in Union, New Jersey. Delivering the eulogy, UNWLA Honorary President Anna Krawczuk's spoke of Mrs. Andrushkiw's covert work aiding Ukrainian students in Poland during the communist regime, prior to Poland's independence in 1989. November 2006. At the invitation of the UNWLA New England Regional Council, I delivered an address during their luncheon, which also celebrated the 150th Anniversary of Ivan Franko. The program’s photo exhibit was featured during Soyuzianka Day of the UNWLA New Jersey Regional Council. April 2007. At the invitation of UNWLA Branch 56, North Port, Florida, I attended the UNWLA Scholarship Program's 40th Anniversary luncheon honoring sponsors. As a keynote speaker, I presented a brief history of our program, arranged a photo exhibit, and awarded certificates of appreciation to sponsors. I also visited Ukrainian communities in Apopka and Daytona Beach, Florida, with the photo exhibit. Another photo exhibit was displayed during the feast of St. Thomas Sunday in South Bound Brook. With the help of Luba Bilowchtchuk, M. Orysia Jacus, and Anna Krawczuk, I answered questions and explained the goals of our program. XXVIII Конвенція СУА 161 www.unwla.org
