U.S. Government and White House I have attended briefings at the White House and was witness to the signing of the bill rescinding the Jackson Vanick Amendment into law by our President George W. Bush. Senator Richard Lugar, Iryna Kurowyckyj and Marta Fedoriw Government of Ukraine I close this report with a warm word of thanks to all the officials from Ukraine that serve in the United States for their invitations to cultural, political, and social programs. There were very many, and some are listed in Ukrainian version of my report. I enjoyed meeting all of you very much. I would especially like to express my gratitude to Ukraine’s President Viktor Yushchenko for an experience that I view as the most unforgettable moment in my life—being awarded the Princess Olha Medal—and to First Lady of Ukraine Kateryna Yushchenko for her presence at the ceremony. Many thanks as well to Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States Dr. Oleh Shamshur and all the members of the embassy and guests who attended this event. Reception at the Ukrainian Mission.
