working hours of Our Life Administrator M. Orysia Jacus and of individuals employed at UNWLA headquarters. Because of time constraints created by this decision, Ms. Jacus has informed me that she cannot handle the volume of donations for Our Life in the allotted work period while dealing with her other responsibilities. For this reason, the tasks of writing and mailing receipts and depositing donations have been assumed by Natalia Duma; editor in chief Irena Chaban compiles lists of donors whose names are published in Our Life. Our employees: Natalia Duma (left) in the office and M. O. Jacus. Natalia Duma has worked for the UNWLA for 35 years. This year, she serves our organization as administrator of Our Life and as the person who does everything that is necessary in the office. For some time now, she has been carrying out these responsibilities under very difficult circumstances due to the health of her son. Often, I have had to devote time to completing many of the simple administrative functions and other matters simply because there was no one else to attend to them. In mentioning this, I do not ask UNWLA members for sympathy but for understanding. If I cannot immediately respond to your requests or questions, it is because I am working on matters that must be immediately resolved in order for the organization to continue to function. President Rozankowsky had 4 full-time employees and three part-time employees who dealt with routine matters and unexpected crises. The UNWLA's current financial status does not allow us to maintain a similar support staff. During this tree year reporting period, the following individuals resigned from the positions to which they had been elected or to which they were appointed: Iwanna Hankewycz, Melania Hrybowych, Environmental Chair Marta Jarosewich, and Dr. Laryssa Dyrszka who was co-opted to replace her. After the resignation of the corresponding secretary, we did not co-opt anyone to fill this position. For this reason, I am once again obliged to write a report that is extensive and detailed rather than a report that provides an overview of where we are and where we are going. Our Executive Committee and National Board worked in this reporting period according to the resolutions proposed by XXVI UNWLA, at the Congress of WFUWO and at the Congress of UWC. Convention Matters Maria Tomorug, Sophia Hewryk, and others members of the UNWLA have worked on proposed amendments to the UNWLA by-laws and have forwarded their recommendations to Oksana Xenos, chair of the By-laws Committee. I thank all the individuals involved in this important work for their contributions. The slate for the new National Board is listed in this book. Web site I would like to thank Hanya Krill, our web master, for her pro bono work of putting our information on the web site, which allows us to keep our web service costs at a modest $250 per year.
