Thank you to Barbara Bachynsky, the recording secretary, who, in her reports, inscribed for posterity the history of the UNWLA; to Omeliana Rohozha, and especially to Andrij Rohozha for his behind-the-scenes input into the 75th Anniversary event. I would also like to thank Nadia Cwiach, who deserves special recognition for her work in the post of financial chair. To Slava Rubel and Anna Maksymovych I extend a word of thanks for their outstanding work as press chairs. A thank you also belongs to Irena Steckiw who designed the emblem for the 75 Anniversary and the buttons awarded to members with 50 years of UNWLA membership. The inimitable Dr. Martha Bohachevsky Chomiak is to be thanked for her reports from Ukraine, and just for being herself. I thank Nadia Shmigel for her tireless and painstaking efforts, volunteer Stefania Kosovych for her help, and Luba Bilowchtchuk, for her enthusiastic work with the scholarship program. Thanks to Maria Pazuniak for her work in the Museum. I would like to express my gratitude to Olha Trytyak and Alexandra Kirshak for their herculean endeavors in organizing and maintaining the archives of UNWLA and to Marta Pelensky for always attempting that which is not yet possible and to Kateryna Ivasyshyn — just for being there. I am grateful to the Regional Councils, Liaisons of members-at-large, Branch presidents, and particularly to each member of the UNWLA for the dedicated and conscientious work done for the benefit of our organization. I am grateful, as well, to the president and members of the New York Regional Council for twice hosting meeting of the National Board. Thank you to the head of the Auditing Committee, Dr. Iwanna Ratych, who always thinks about the welfare of our organization and who so graciously volunteered to sponsor the Lesya Ukrainka Project. Sincere thanks go to Orysia Svystun, president of Branch 56 in Northport, FI, for organizing the XXVI Convention, to Chair Tetiana Silecky and her Convention Committee for all their hard work, and to Chair Marta Danyluk and the members of the Publications Committee for all their diligence in the preparation of the convention book. Everyone attending the convention will recognize the results of their labors. I extend my heartfelt thanks to Askold Lozynsky, President of the World Congress of Ukrainians, who is always ready to help with legal matters. A special word of thanks goes to Oksana Sokolyk, President of the WFUWO; to Olha Hnateyko, President of the Board of Trustees of The Ukrainian Museum; to Honorary President of UNWLU Atena Pashko; to President of UNWLU Lilia Hrehorovych; and to the President of UWCC, Mychajlo Horyn for his cooperation. For advice and help in various complex issues, and for publishing Our Life magazine, my thanks to editor Irena Chaban and to English language editor Tamara Stadnychenko. Thanks also go to Lev Chaban for his editorial assistance. A warm thank you to Natalia Duma, who for many years was the administrator of Our Life, and then worked in our office — altogether a dedicated time of 30 years. I am especially grateful for her great input during the packing and moving of our office. Thank you to Daria Drazdovky and Jurij Shtohryn for their help in the moving effort. An emphatic “thank you very much” is owed to Orysia Jacus, who administrates for our magazine and who always has answers to all my questions. A very special thanks to Marie Duplak, president of Computoprint Corp. Last, but not least, I would like to thank my husband Jaroslav for his great understanding of my needs and for his readiness always to help. I especially thank him for his patience when the UNWLA office was relocated to our home and for his unfailing sense of humor on the days the telephone would not stop ringing and the e-mails were flooding the computer. I am grateful to the UNWLA for giving me the opportunity to experience so many wonderful things -- the meetings in Brazil and Ukraine, participating in conferences and representing a wonderful organization at so many interesting events and activities. All of these have enriched my life in countless ways. In ending my term of office, I can humbly but proudly state that at all times and in all things I have made every effort to carry out my responsibilities to the best of my ability. I trust that I have not disappointed you. May the Almighty keep you in His care. XXVI Конвенція СУА 89 www.unwla.org
