The UNWLA president and other members of the National Board joined the Ukrainian diplomatic representatives at ceremonies honoring the Ukrainian military. The Press Articles about the UNWLA have appeared in various publications, including Svoboda, The Ukrainian Weekly, and America (see report of Anna Maksymovych, Press Chair). Nashe Slovo. UNWL of Poland greeted the newly elected president of the UNWLA and stated that our organization is "the most industrious." Borysfen published Fidel Suchonic's "To preserve the warmth of the native hearth" based on his friendship with I. Kurowyckyj. Sun Herald. Atanas Kobryn wrote about I. Anna Maksymovych is currently serving as press chair. Problems and needs of the organization At this time the UNWLA is facing financial difficulties associated with office administrative costs. While UNWLA members are eager to support projects and programs, we seldom get donations to help defray administrative expenses. This creates administrative problems that lead to delays in addressing matters of concern to our members. Special thanks In closing, I would like to express my gratitude to some of the individuals who have provided me with support and encouragement in my endeavors as president of this organization. I would like to thank First Vice president Maria Tomorug for her invaluable advice and assistance in countless matters. I thank Vice president Sofia Hewryk for her beautiful speeches and for maintaining contact with all regions and branches. Vice president Oxana Farion is to be commended for keeping in touch with members-at-large and especially for her calm approach to various complicated problems. I thank Vice president Mortia Slonevsky for her diligent efforts in public relations and I thank members of Branch 76 for helping her in ways too numerous to mention. For valor beyond the call of duty, I extend my gratitude to Natalia Hewko, who was the mistress of ceremonies at the UNWLA’s 75th Anniversary Banquet; to Marta Danyluk, who prepared the UNWLA history slide presentation; and to members of the Executive and National Committee for their help in matters large and small that made our banquet a wonderful and memorable event. 88 XXVI Конвенція СУА www.unwla.org
