Всеукраїнський конкурс студентських наукових шекспірознавчих досліджень при Націо нальній Академії Наук України. (1) У своїм листі до СУА Адміністрація конкурсу описала їхню мету - потребу повернути сучасних молодих студентів України до культурних цінностей західного світу. (2) СУА зобов’язався фінансувати три перші нагороди конкурсу на загальну суму $1,000. (3) У конкурсі можуть брати участь студенти вищих навчальних закладів України. На конкурс подаються самостійно підготовлені наукові роботи студентів з шекспіро- знавства. Всі наукові праці виконуються українською мовою. (4) Результати конкурсу будуть поміщені на веб-сайті “Український шекспірівський портал ” (www.shakesDeare.zp.ua). Праця в Раді директорів Українського Музею в Ню Йорку. Як член Ради, допомогла: (1) організувати експозицію книжок Мазепияди - “Мазепа в друку - Mazepa in Print” під час виставки І. Мазепи в УМ; (2) організувати мистецьку виставку картин відомого шістдесятника Опанаса Заливахи, експозицію літератури шістдесятників та презентації другого тому листів Івана Світличного “Голос доби “. SOPHIA HEWRYK VICE PRESIDENT FOR CULTURE The UNWLA Vice President for Culture has two main responsibilities: administration of the Lesia and Petro Kovaliv Fund and the Petro and Natalia Andrusiw Fund. Lesia and Petro Kovaliv Fund. The first and most important responsibility is the management of the awards from the Lesia and Petro Kovaliv Fund. The Kovaliv family entrusted the UNWLA with the administration of the Fund back in 1966. Special prizes are awarded annually, alternating between works in literature and history/science. The responsibilities of the administrator of the Fund include the contest announcement in the Ukrainian press and in Our Life, jury selection, and presentation of the awards to the winners. Between 2008 and 2011, the prizes were awarded four times (the first of these had been announced during the term of the previous Executive Board but was awarded after the UNWLA’s Convention of 2008). Award(s) in literature : • Oksana Zabuzhko “Notre Dame d’Ukraine: Україна в конфлікті міфології” {Notre Dame d ’Ukraine: Ukraine in the Clash o f Mythology), Kyiv: FAKT, 2007, 640pp. • Vasyl Mahno “Cornilia Street Cafe, нові та вибрані вірші 1991-2006” ( Cornilia Street Cafe: New and Selected Poems 1991-2006 ), Kyiv: FAKT, 2007, 224pp. Jury: Prof. L.
