In closing this report, I would like to sincerely thank the following: ПІяпа Zinvch. 1st Vice President. Ms. Zinych has been my partner and supporter in all our projects. She has taken on two major and intensive projects within the last term—as project manager of both A Candle in Remembrance and as project manager of this, the XXIX UNWLA Convention Book. Many issues which need attention arise on a regular basis, and Ms Zinych always tends to these professionally, with conviction, and with a sense of humor. Anna Macielinski. 2nd Vice President of Membership. Ms. Macielinski has worked intensively to develop the “Retention and Recruitment Campaign” and has traveled great distances to visit branches and Regional Councils to address membership and organizational issues. Sofia Hewrvk, 3rd Vice President for Culture. Ms. Hewryk has continued to work diligently on the prestigious Kovaliv Award by inviting members to the jury, by advertising the competition in various publications, and by planning the awards ceremonies. She has also been instrumental in finding recipients for grants from the President Yushchenko banquet funds. Christine Melnvk, 4th Vice President for Public Relations. Ms. Melnyk has written important communiques as needed, for example, the two letters to the President of Ukraine mentioned above. She has also served as the UNWLA representative on the U.S. Committee for Ukrainian Holodomor-Genocide Awareness 1932-33. Maria Andrivowch. Recording Secretary. Ms. Andriyovych has recorded the minutes of all Executive Committee and National Board meetings, always with a smile. This is a very important focus since the minutes are an integral part of our history. Daria Drozdovska. Corresponding Secretary. Ms. Drozdovska has taken care of all required correspondence within the UNWLA as well as with Soyuz Ukrainok of Ukraine, other community organizations, or individuals in a professional and timely manner. Nadia Cwiach. Treasurer Ms. Cwiach has taken care of all accounting matters on our office accounting software, preparing all financial records for Oleh Sawkiw, CPA, for the UNWLA’s annual audits. This preparation has been done in a timely manner, allowing for IRS filings within filing-time limits. Roma Shuhan. Financial Secretary. Ms. Shuhan has prepared all dues statements for our branches as well as annual budgets. In addition, she takes care of paying invoices and preparing payroll checks and other administrative issues as they arise. This year Roma has been indispensable during all repairs after the UNWLA office suffered damages due to a fire at the end of August 2010. Vera Kushnir. Member at Large. Ms. Kushnir has made herself available for any project assigned, especially those requiring her event-planning skills. Vera planned and executed the 85th anniversary celebration held in October at the Ukrainian Museum in New York City and has been Convention Liaison from the Executive Committee. Irena Steckiv. Member at Large. Ms. Steckiv, with her background in the arts, has been in charge of the Our Life cover artwork and has maintained an open line of communication with our Ukrainian American artists. This project has been very successful! I must also thank the National Board and all Regional Council presidents for their dedication, cooperation, and support over the past three years. I once again invite and encourage all of you to read their individual reports in this convention book in order to fully grasp the scope of their accomplishments. Congratulations!
