With Ella Lamakh. We continue to maintain contacts in Argentina and in other countries. Recently, we had an opportunity to expand our Program to Estonia and to renew it in Poland. Un fortunately, due to political unrest, we had to curtail our efforts in Georgia and Uzbekistan. May 2008 UNWLA XXVIII Convention, May 23-26, 2008 - Detroit, Michigan At the 2008 Convention, the UNWLA Scholarship workshop and exhibits were dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Scholarship Program. (1967-2007). On this occasion, all members of the Scholarship Committee, and the Branches and Regional Councils that support our work were awarded certificates of appreciation. Special recognition was awarded in gratitude to M. Orysia Jacus for her 20 years of volunteer work as Treasurer of the UNWLA Scholarship Program. 2008-2010 Since the previous convention, two bilingual (Ukrainian/English) UNWLA Inc Scholarship Program circulars (of important updates and information) were distributed to all UNWLA Inc Executive Committee members, to all Branches, and to all Members-at-Large. A huge undertaking was the publication of the 6th UNWLA Scholarship/Children-Student Sponsorship Program booklet for the years 2002 through 2007. All of our sponsors received this new booklet, which includes financial reports, names of all sponsors and donors, names of all graduates of the program and their sponsors. The booklet also contains the history of the Scholarship Program from its modest beginnings in 1967 to the end of 2007. Two previous UNWLA Scholarship Program booklets, covering the years of 1993-2001 and 1987-1992, are still available and can be ordered through our office in Matawan, New Jersey. Articles about the Scholarship Program and lists of donors are periodically published in the UNWLA magazine, Our Life. A special thank you goes to the editors of Svoboda, America, Nova Hazeta, Meest, and The Ukrainian Weekly for publishing our press releases in their publications. We appreciate your continued support in assisting us to reach out to the Ukrainian American community at large.
