22-го вересня 2010 року разом з іншими членками СУА та українською громадою підтримувала демонстрацію в Ню Йорку перед Українською Місією при ООН. 9-го жовтня 2010 року я мала честь бути ведучою програми святкування 85-ліття Союзу Українок Америки. Висловлюю особливу подяку всім членам Екзекутиви СУА. Будучи новою членкою в Екзекутиві СУА я є дуже вражена проробленою роботою голови СУА - Маріянною Заяць та членами Екзекутиви за останню трирічну каденцію. Скільки вкладено натхнення, власного бажання, сил та безсонних ночей в усі розроблені проекти, про це тільки знають члени Екзекутиви. Сказати їм просто “дякую” за все є занадто мало. На мою думку, вони заслуговують на велике-велике “спасибі”. Я є горда за те, що належу до цієї команди, де всі підтримують одна одну у нелегкій, але приємній серцю праці. Я є також щаслива, що маю можливість внести і свій невеликий вклад в організацію СУА та її доброчинні акції. Найбільшою нагородою для нас - союзянок є радісні хвилини, вдячність, та молитви тих людей, кому в скрутну хвилину ми змогли допомогти та принести радість в їхні серця і заради цього хочеться жити і надалі працювати. MARIYA ANDRIYOVYCH UNWLA RECORDING SECRETARY As the Godmother of Branch 125—the youngest branch in the New York Regional Council— UNWLA Honorary President Iryna Kurowyckyj was a frequent guest at our monthly meetings. She was eager to support the new members of the UNWLA and shared with us the history of the UNWLA and the aims and goals of the organization. It was through the initiative of Iryna Kurowyckyj that Branch 125, of which I am a member, was established in April 2000. She devoted much effort to engage the branch members in active work within the New York Regional Council. In 2008, completing her third term as UNWLA President, Iryna Kurowyckyj invited me to take on the responsibilities of Recording Secretary of the UNWLA. I am sincerely grateful to her for this. Having started my work as the Recording Secretary of the UNWLA Executive Board in June 2 0 0 8 ,1 had an opportunity to learn much more about the activities of the UNWLA, which inspired me to work for the benefit of our women’s organization with even deeper interest and devotion. During this three-year term, my main function was to keep minutes of the UNWLA Executive Board monthly meetings and the annual meetings of the UNWLA National Board. Between 26 April 2008 and 27 May 2011, there were 27 Executive Board meetings and 4 National Board meetings. The UNWLA Executive Board meetings were held as follows: between June and December 2008, there were four all-day meetings in the UNWLA office; between January and December 2009, there were five all-day meetings in the UNWLA office and five evening conference calls; between January and December 2010, five all-day meetings were held in the UNWLA office, one all-day meeting was held at the Ukrainian Museum (when the UNWLA office was closed for repairs after the fire); and three evening conference calls. Between January and May 2011, there were three all-day meetings at the UNWLA office and one evening conference call. The National Board convened for a three-day assembly once a year. The meeting of October 24-26, 2008, took place in the UNWLA office in New York City and was attended by 26 participants. The meeting of October 23-25, 2009, was held at Soyuzivka in Kerhonkson, New York, and was attended by 30 participants. The next meeting was held on October 8-10, 2010, at the offices of Self Reliance Association of American Ukrainians at 98 Second Ave., New York, New York, with 31 participants attending.
