Jury: Vasyl Mahno (Chair), Prof. Maria Revakovych, and Prof. Marko Andreichyk. We are grateful to all the jury members for their contributions. The UNWLA Vice President for Culture also administers the Petro and Natalia Andrusiw Fund. We designated $2,000 from the Fund, with the approval from Y. Tsikalo, the Fund’s trustee, for the exhibition dedicated to Hetman Ivan Mazepa, which was featured at the Ukrainian Museum in New York. The Fund is also to be used to sponsor an exhibition of the works by Petro Andrusiw at the Ukrainian Museum as well as to publish a monograph by this artist. The Petro and Natalia Andrusiw Fund also supports two art schools in Western Ukraine (Halychyna). Last year, these schools received $1,430 from the Fund. Two grants were distributed from the Fund (with money raised at the Washington banquet honoring President Yushchenko): • The UNWLA provided a grant from the Fund to Olena Rybka, who is completing her doctoral program at Kharkiv University. Ms. Rybka was recommended for the grant by Prof. A. Danylenko-Vakulenko (Kharkiv University) and M. Mudrak. • Per decision of the UNWLA Executive Board, a grant was awarded to Iryna Koshulap, who is working on her doctoral dissertation Women, Nation, and the Generation Gap: The UNWLA in the Post-Cold War Era at the Central European University, Department of Gender Studies. The UNWLA also supported the “National Competition fo r the Best Shakespeare Studies Research among Students ” organized by the National Academy of Science of Ukraine. 1. In their letter to the UNWLA, the administrative board of the competition described its aim, namely to cultivate interest in Western cultural heritage among today’s college students in Ukraine. 2. The UNWLA committed itself to sponsor the first three prizes, which will total $ 1,000. 3. The competition is open to the college and university students in Ukraine who are required to submit their individual academic papers related to Shakespearean Studies. All the submitted works should be written in Ukrainian. 4. The final results will be available on the Website of the Ukrainian Shakespeare Portal (www.shakespeare.zp.ua). Serving on the Board o f Trustees o f the Ukrainian Museum in New York. As a member of the Board of Trustees of the UM, I assisted in: 1. The organization of the exhibit of books and publications on Hetman Ivan Mazepa (“Mazepa in Print”) during the Mazepa exhibition in the Ukrainian Museum. 2. The organization of an exhibition of paintings by famous “sixtiers” dissident Opanas Zalyvakha, an exhibit of the literary works by various poets and writers of the “sixtiers” movement, and a presentation of the second volume of letters of Ivan Svitlychnyi - “Голос доби” ( Voice o f the Epoch). 98 XXIXКонвенція СУА www.unwla.org
