Dear Delegates to the XXIII Convention of the Ukrainian National Women's League of America! The delegates of the XVIII Convention of Ukrainian National Women’s League of America proposed the founding of the Ukrainian Museum in New York City, the arts capital of the world and the home of the United Nations. The Museum has lived up to the expectations of its founders, while the community supported there vision. The Museum is considered to be one of the finest achievements of the Ukrainian immigration in the United States by people in Ukraine and in Diaspora. Although successful in its endeavors, the institution's work has been confined to temporary quarters which are owned by the UNWLA. This year the Museum is launching the Second Phase of its relocation project — raising funds for the rebuilding of its property, a mortgage-free building, into a new, modern and representative museum facility. The Ukrainian Museum in New York City has great potential. We trust that members of UNWLA will continue to cherish and support the further development of the institution which they have founded. For our children and grandchildren the Museum will remain not only a lasting source of pride in our culture, but a shining example testifying to our presence in the United States. It will also stand as an example of UNWLA's foresight and wise planning. The Board of Trustees, the Administration and the members of the Ukrainian Museum greet the Delegates to the Convention and convey our best wishes for successful deliberations. Respectfully Yours, Titus Hewryk President 230 www.unwla.org
