a member of the by-laws committee. On November 13th, 14th and 15th, 1981 the WFUWO Board held its yearly meeting in Philadelphia, Pa. At the same time, the Nominating Commit tee of the IV Congress of WFUWO held its first meeting and appointed Maria Savchak as its Chairwoman. The IV Congress of WFUWO was held on November 25th, 26th, 27th, and 28th of November, 1982 in Philadelphia, Pa. The UNWLA delegation took an active part in the Congress. The following UNWLA candidates were elected at the Congress to the WFUWO Executive Board: Olena Prociuk — second Vice President; Lubow Shandra — Chairwoman of the Program Committee; Natalia Danylenko — Chairwoman of the Museum and Arts Commit tee; Lydia Hladky — Chairwoman of Public Relations Commitee; Dr. Natalia Pazuniak — Chairwoman Under-Soviet Studies Committee; and Irena Kachaniwsky — member of the Auditing Committee. On November 28th and 29th, 1983 the WFUWO Board held its yearly meeting in Toronto, Canada. Attending from UNWLA were: Ivanna Rozankowsky, Theodosia Sawycky, Maria Tomorug, Maria Savchak, Irena Czajkowsky and Lubow Wolynetz. One of the main speakers during the program was Prof. Marta Bohachevsky-Chomiak who delivered a talk about the 100th Anniversary of the Ukrainian Women’s Movement. Lubow Wolynetz showed slides about the history of the Ukrainian Women’s Movement. During the meeting Ivanna Rozankowsky was appointed as the Chairwoman of the WFUWO’s By-laws Commit tee. In order to establish better relations and coordination of work with WFUWO, UNWLA Executive Committee invited Dr. Maria Kwitkowsky, President of WFUWO, to meet with its members. Such meeting took place on March 28th, 1984 and various matters and problems were discussed. UNWLA delegates — Theodosia Sawycky, Maria Tomorug and Maria Savchak — attend ed the IV World Congress of Free Ukrainians (WCFU) which was held from November 30th through December 4th, 1983 in Toronto, Canada. Ivanna Rozankowsky, UNWLA President, also attended the Congress as WFUWO’s delegate. She also acted as the Chairwoman of the By-laws Committee. Maria Savchak was a member of the Verification Committee. Ivanna Rozankowsky, as the Vice President of WFUWO, was appointed to the Secretariat of WCFU. National Council of Women of the United States (NCW-US) invited UNWLA’s President, Ivanna Rozankowsky, to become a member of its Executive Board for the term 1982-1984. She accepted the invitation and served on the Board for the full term. In 1984, as a member of the Nominating Committee, she proposed Dr. Marta Bohachevsky-Chomiak to replace her on the Board. This proposal was accepted and Dr. Bohachevsky-Chomiak was elected to the NCW-US’s Executive Board for the term 1984-1986. On June 17, 1982, NCW-US held a Lead ers Luncheon in Washington, D. C. during which discussions were focused on the critical issues and concerns of the American woman. Ivanna Rozankowsky, UNWLA President, Irena Kurowycky and Martha Fedoriw, UNWLA Communications Coordinators, attended the lunch eon. In 1982, UNWLA’a Executive Committe formed a Scholarship Committee of the Eva Stashkiw Fund. The Commitee members — Ivanna Rozankowsky, Theodosia Sawycky, Joanna Ratych and Anna Krawczuk — worked out a set of rules and regulations according to which applications may be made for scholarships. A contest was announced and the first scholarship was awarded to Dr. Marta Bohachevsky-Chomiak to help her with the publication of her work “The History of the Ukrainian Women’s Movement”. In March of 1983, UNWLA announced the winners of the contest of the Lesia and Petro Kowaliw Literary Fund. The first prize was awarded to Prof. Omelan Pricak for his historical work “The Origin of Rus”. The jury members of this category were: Dr. Marta Bohachevsky- Chomiak, Dr. Myroslaw Labunka and Prof. Ihor Shewchenko. The second prize was awarded to Leonid Plyushch for his literary-historical work “History’s Carnival”. The jury members of this category were: Prof. Larissa Onyshkevycz, Prof. Myroslava Znajenko and Prof. Asya Humecka.
