During this term the Executive Committee held its meetings twice monthly and also had nine (9) one-day meetings necessitated by an overabundance of pending matters which could not be dealt with at its regular meetings. Matters on the agenda included planning and presenting a program to achieve the goals and aims of the organization; review and approval of the plans and programs proposed by the various Committees of the National Board; con tinued support of the Ukrainian Museum; continued aid to Ukrainian political prisoners and their families; discussions and review of various matters pertaining to the Ukrainian commun ity and UNWLA; making plans and preparing for the XX UNWLA Convention. The National Board met in October of 1981, October of 1982 and October of 1983. Men tion should be made of some of the more important matters discussed and decisions made at these meetings. At the first meeting plans for the entire term were presented, discussed and approved. The Board approved and accepted the President’s two proposals: (1) To com memorate the sixth anniversary of the death of Olena Lotocky, a long time UNWLA President, it was decided to establish a $100,000.00 fund in her name with the aim of guaranteeing future growth and preservation of the organization. (2) To organize a committee which would make plans for a Women’s Conference to be held in the early fall of 1982 under the sponsorship of UNWLA. Also, Martha Danyluk, who initiated and worked on the project, showed for the first time “UNWLA History in Slides” . It was decided that Regional Councils would hold their yearly elections in the non-convention years during the spring months and in the convention year during June or September after the convention. At the second Board Meeting, 1982 financial report was approved and 1983 preliminary budget was presented and adopted. Nadia Nynka, Chairwoman of the Program Committee of the Ukrainian Women’s Conference called “Ukrainian Woman in Two Worlds” which was held on October 2nd and 3rd, 1982 at Soyuziwka, gave a full report about the panels as well as the result of a question naire given to the participants of the Conference. It was decided that the XX UNWLA Conven tion would be held on May 26th, 27th and 28th, 1984 in New York City and the theme of the Convention would be “The Centennial of Ukrianian Women’s Movement”.
