XVII КОНВЕНЦІЯ СУА attended the UNWLA conventions, and served on committees when the UNWLA conventions were held in Philadelphia, particularly in 1948 when the World Federation of Ukrainian Women's Organization was founded. Members have appeared on Quiz Radio and TV shows and have sent Ukrainian recipes to the American newspapers. Branch 52 was among the Junior Clubs that formed the Junior section within the Philadelphia Federation of Women's Clubs and Allied Organizations, Inc., with Mrs. Stephanie Wochok as its first secretary. We are proud of her accomplishments for she has served on the Board of the Federation for over 12 years and was elected its President for 1972-74, heading an organization that includes over 80 women's member clubs. During her term of office, members of Branch 52 took an active part in its activities and members of other branches of UNWLA participated in the art and crafts exhibit which was held at LaSalle College and received awards for their outstanding work. Much was accomplished by the branch during its first 15 years, but as the members began getting married and raising families, domestic responsibilities interfered and the branch was unable to continue all its annual projects. Members still meet monthly (except in July and August) at the hostess member's home or at the head office of the UNWLA. In the last few years, members have knitted many bandages for the leprosy colony, knitted items for the retarded inmates at Pennhurst State institution, and the branch has given donations to the Ukrainian earthquake victims in Jugoslavia and for other worthy Ukrainian causes. The following charter members who are still members of the branch are: Alice Baron, Mary Hnyda, Ann Kean, Stella Kiriloff, Stephania Kredensor, Josephine Latnaunchyn, Mary Metelski and Stephanie Wochok. The present officers are: Francis Newman, President, Kay Cebra, Vice President, Pearl Bilinski, Secretary, Ann Sywulak, Treasurer; and Olga Lisovich, Sunshine Chairman.
