In 2010, she also participated in the annual meeting of the World Federation of Ukraini - an Women’s Organizations in Poland, where she reconnected with scholarship graduates who had since become professionals. Maria became ill in 2014 and passed away on December 15, 2015. Her life was honored in ceremonies held in New Jersey, Brazil, and Ukraine. Following her passing, Anna Krawczuk stepped in as Acting Chair and was official - ly elected Chair of the UNWLA Scholarship Program in 2017.
