НАШЕ ЖИТТЯ • Липень 2025 25 Branch 75 Members Paint, Learn and Sip Branch 75 organized a unique event for the com - munity on Sunday, March 30. The Paint, Learn and Sip event attracted 60 participants who were eager to express their artistic abilities and at the same time connect with old friends and meet new ones. With easels, brushes, and paints in place, Mar - garet Nycz, president of Branch 75, graciously wel - comed the participants and explained the mission of the UNWLA in the diaspora, highlighting its ad - vocacy for Ukraine as well as the humanitarian aid it provides, especially now in this time of the cruel and unjustified war. Branch 75 member Chrystia Syzonenko intro - duced her sister, the instructor Natalka Pavlovsky Weismantel, PhD, an accomplished artist. Dr. Pav - lovsky Weismantel explained that the inspiration for today’s project was the age-old Ukrainian lull - aby “Ходить Сон Коло Вікон” (Sleep does ’neath Sonia Bokalo , Press Secretary, Branch 75, Maplewood, NJ the windows creep). This precious lullaby evokes images of a tranquil home in a Ukrainian village on a starry night where a child sleeps peacefully and dreams wonderful dreams. The instructor dis - played her own painting of this tranquil scene and, through a step-by-step process, masterfully guided the participants to completion of the painting. Her use of a projection screen enabled everyone to see the intricacies of each step, as did Dr. Pavlovsky Weismantel’s personal guidance as she went from participant to participant giving additional recom - mendations, advice, and encouragement. The re - sult was 60 complete paintings, and many partici - pants who were surprised by their artistic abilities. The afternoon included an appetizing buffet of snacks and sweets prepared by the members of Branch 75 for all to enjoy. Of course, the sip part of the event was equally enjoyable!
