НАШЕ ЖИТТЯ • Серпень 2025 27 Vyshyvanka Run 2025: A Tradition Born from Love for Ukraine and Sustained by Community Unity Kateryna Voinova , President, Branch 147, Austin – San Antonio, TX On May 15 in Austin, Branch 147 held its second annual Vyshyvanka Run, a festive 3K run dedicat - ed to Vyshyvanka Day. The event brought together participants of all ages, dressed in traditional em - broidered shirts, joined by families, friends, and even pets, to take meaningful steps in support of Ukraine. This was more than just a run, it was a manifes - tation of our presence. We are here, we are strong, beautiful, and proud! Special thanks go to our dedicated Soyuzianka Nataliya Havryshko, who brings us this celebration of strength, culture, and unity year after year. We have also shared a photo from the very first Vyshyvanka Run in 2024, which was our branch’s first official event. That day, we were honored by a visit from esteemed Soyuzianka Nora Mason, whose example of service and dedication to the community continues to inspire us. “The atmosphere was as warm as the Texan air, the smiles as bright as the sun, and the friendly hugs and genuine smiles here and there remind - ed us that we’re building something meaningful. It was inspiring to see so many people come togeth - er, united by culture and compassion — and to see them bring their children, involving the next gen - eration in supporting this important cause,” shares Olga Moyseyenko, our Soyuzianka and volunteer coordinator from Adobe, whose wonderful team took part in the preparation and support of the 2025 Vyshyvanka Run. Ukrainian house-style music by DJ Dash Shad cre - ated an incredible atmosphere — energetic, mod - ern, and truly ours! “It is my dream that on Vyshyvanka Day, every UN - WLA branch across America will organize a run or a walk in embroidered shirts, so that in every state and every city, our beautiful embroidered treasures of Ukraine will be seen and celebrated as symbols of our culture’s strength, beauty, and resilience,” says Kateryna Voinova, President of Branch 147. So that Americans can see, hear, and feel: the vy - shyvanka is not just clothing — it is the voice of a nation that will never fade. Together, we can show the world: we are here, we stand with one another, and we always will. Thank you to everyone who joined us. See you again in 2026! Together we are stronger. Together we are visi - ble. Together we are unbreakable. Photos courtesy Yevhen Altyn. Our first Vyshyvanka Run in 2024
