After a short break, our new national and executive of - ficers for the next three-year term were elected. Natalie Santarsiero, the nominating chair, read the committee’s re- port on their disciplined and rigorous nominating process as well as the proposed slate of candidates. It is important to note that every position on the Executive Committee, as well as Chairs of Standing and Audit Committees, was open to anyone in the organization who wished to apply. Na - talie Pawlenko was elected to continue as president of the UNWLA for another three-year term; Oksana Lodziuk Kry - wulych was voted in as 1st Vice President; Oka Hrycak – 2nd Vice President for Membership; Marusia Kvit-Flynn – 3rd Vice President for Public Relations; Yuliya Penchak – Sec- retary; Olga Manziy – Treasurer; Karen Chelak – Financial Secretary; Oksana Konyk – 1st Officer at Large; and Marian- na Tretiak – 2nd Officer at Large. Natalie Pawlenko addressed our attendees as our new - ly re-elected UNWLA president, expressed her gratitude for being elected to a second term via a video report, and re- viewed the accomplishments of the organization over the past three years. She stressed that, as the organization has done over its long history, the UNWLA will continue to meet the unprecedented challenges of these current times, add- ing that “the heart of our work could not have been accom- plished without each of you. From delivering humanitarian aid to those in dire need, to advocating on the international stage for the rights and freedoms of Ukraine, to preserving and promoting our rich cultural heritage, our organization has been a beacon of hope and a voice for the voiceless. In the next three years, we will expand our efforts to pro- vide even more support to those who need it most. We will strengthen our partnerships, both within the Ukrainian dias- pora and with our allies around the world. And we will con- tinue to advocate tirelessly for justice, for freedom, and for the rights of every Ukrainian to live in dignity and peace.” The celebratory portion of our convention soon followed. Members dressed up for an enjoyable cocktail hour before the banquet. The ballroom was beautifully decorated by our Reception and Decorating committees. The flowers prepared by Natalia Chuchvara-Hunka (Branch 65, New Brunswick, NJ) were exquisite. The speech by the evening’s keynote speaker, Dr. Taras Dobko, Rector of the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) in Lviv, was both inspiring and sad as he shared what the university’s students endure during the ongoing war. One of the students was quoted as saying, “We more often at - Convention delegates and guests listen intently during presentations.
