36 OUR LIFE • September-October 2024 On behalf of the UNWLA executive committee, I want to extend a sincere thank-you to the members of the Convention and Convention Book Commit - tees as well as the numerous convention volunteers for your hard work and dedication. Your efforts en- sured the success of our convention. Organizing the convention was truly a monumen- tal effort that took months and months of intensive planning and thousands of hours of work on the part of many. In addition to the obvious ones, there were numerous unseen details to tend to. Simple requests or changes tended to have a snowball effect. How - ever, our Convention Committee worked patiently and diligently to ensure that things ran as smoothly as possible, which we hope resulted in a positive and enriching experience for our delegates and guests. The Convention Committee consisted of vari- ous subcommittees, each headed by a New Jersey Branch President. During my work as liaison from the National Executive Committee to both the Con - vention and Convention Book Committees, I had the pleasure and honor of working with a group of extremely talented and dedicated volunteers. The boutique, decorations, fundraising, program, recep - tion, and registration subcommittees as well as our treasurer and convention book editors all did an ex - ceptional job. It was wonderful to see our members in action both before and during the convention. I want to express our deepest thanks to each and every one of them. Together with our president, Na - talie Pawlenko, we worked on planning the conven- tion for well over a year. We learned a great deal, we stressed, we laughed, and we bonded not only with each other but with all the people who con - tacted us throughout the process.
