НАШЕ ЖИТТЯ • Вересень-Жовтень 2024 33 Culture Chair: Strengthen The UNWLA Cultural program by: 1. encouraging our members to use the cultural tools on our UNWLA website (Artists Directory; De- colonization Toolkit) to promote Ukraine’s culture to an audience beyond our Ukrainian communities; 2. encouraging the showing of Ukrainian-made films, as films are an effective means of raising awareness of our Ukrainian ethos; 3. beginning in 2025, declaring May to be dedicat - ed to "Decolonization of Ukrainian Culture;" 4. strengthening our relationships with cultural in - stitutions throughout the nation by building aware - ness of the importance of decolonization; 5. establishing new venues for the promotion of all forms of Ukrainian art; 6. developing relationships with cultural institu- tions in Ukraine and organizing cultural exchanges. Education Chair: Strengthen the UNWLA Educational program by: 1. encouraging Branches to continue gaining sup - port for the recognition of the Holodomor as a gen- ocide of the Ukrainian people; 2. continuing the support of the Women’s Studies program at UCU and other educational institutions in Ukraine; 3. continuing cooperation with ENGin, a nonprofit organization connecting English-speaking volun - teers with motivated young Ukrainians for online speaking practice; 4. encouraging Branches to work with local libraries to present Ukrainian literature in American libraries; 5. encouraging Branches and Regional Councils to include among their annual projects, publications, activities, and topics related to women’s health; 6. encouraging Branches to expand the scope of educational topics, such as dedicating April to the Chornobyl nuclear disaster, whose effects are still felt today, and focusing on russia’s current war against Ukraine, highlighting the sacrifices of Ukraine’s modern-day heroes, including the “Heav - enly Hundred;” 7. encouraging Branches to work with other organ- izations and societies to increase the number of Ukrainian studies programs in American universi - ties; 8. continuing the development of educational ma- terials for the further development of our organi - zation. Fundraising Chair: Strengthen UNWLA’s Fundraising efforts by: 1. encouraging Branches to hold at least one fund - raising effort annually in support of UNWLA initia - tives/projects; 2. developing a comprehensive strategic plan for fundraising. 2nd Vice President for Membership: Strengthen our UNWLA membership by: 1. collaborating with the Education Chair to devel- op training and orientation for UNWLA members at all levels of the organization; 2. encouraging Regional Councils/BAL/MAL to host regular training sessions on leadership develop - ment for their respective constituents; 3. working with the UNWLA Membership Commit - tee to create and implement a plan to re-engage our members in national projects; 4. developing a strategic plan for the recruitment of new members and branches. 3rd Vice President for Public Relations: Strengthen the UNWLA Public Relations efforts by: 1. developing a cohesive strategy for organizational visibility and brand awareness. Scholarship/Sponsorship Chair: Strengthen the UNWLA Scholarship/Sponsorship program by: 1. continuing the Scholarship Sponsorship Program in Brazil and Ukraine, overcoming challenges to the timely delivery of scholarships to students; 2. encouraging Branches and Regions to increase the number of program sponsors. Social Welfare Chair: Strengthen the UNWLA Social Welfare efforts by: 1. broadening UNWLA awareness of the human - itarian needs of Ukrainian women in the United States and Ukraine through partnerships with oth - er organizations willing and able to assist; 2. supporting mental health programs focusing pri- marily on children traumatized by war; 3. continuing to provide medical aid and equip - ment to hospitals serving the army and the general citizenry.
