НАШЕ ЖИТТЯ • Вересень-Жовтень 2024 19 Люся (Елізабета) Буняк, референтка суспільної опіки Люся є членкинею СУА з 2010 р. Була головою 75-го Відділу та референткою суспільної опіки і секретарем Округи Ню Джерзі. Після навчання в Ню Йорку, Ню Джерзі та Австрії вона здобула ступені з німецької мови й інформатики та продовжувала викладати курси з цих галузей на рівні середньої школи. Люся — колишня вчителька української школи, була суддею конкурсу есе про Голодомор. Вона полюбляє прогулянки, їзду на велосипеді, каякінг, подорожі та читання книжок. Olya Czerkas, Liaison for Members-at-Large (Branch 124, St. Petersburg, FL) Olya grew up in Lorain, Ohio, and currently resides in St. Petersburg, Florida. She graduated from Ohio State University with BA and MS degrees and received additional professional certification at Bowling Green State University and the University of South Florida. Olya has been active and a leader in the Ukrainian and American communities in Ohio and Florida in Ukrainian churches and schools, Plast, and educational programs, and as a director and instructor of Ukrainian dance groups. In 2000, Olya was one of the founders of Branch 124, where she has held many positions, including president for over 12 years. She was the UNWLA Liaison for Branches-at-Large and Members-at-Large and ac- tively involved in many UNWLA sub-committees. Besides her work in the UNWLA, Olya is an advisor to the Ukrainian National Association; held leadership positions at the Soyuzivka Children’s Summer Camps (1990–2018); and worked with the U.S.–Ukraine Foundation and the Congressional Office for International Leadership to bring Ukrain- ian doctors to the U.S. for trauma training at the Veterans Hospital in Tampa. Olya is the proud mother of two sons. She enjoys painting, singing, dancing, making good friends, and learning something new every day. Оля Черкас, голова вільних членкинь Зростала в Льорейн, Огайо. Переїхала і проживає в Сент-Пітерсберзі, Флорида. Закінчила Університет штату Огайо зі ступенями бакалавра та маґістра та отримала додаткову професійну сертифікацію в Університеті штату Бовлінґ Ґрін та Університеті Південної Флориди. В Огайо та Флориді була і є активною в українських та американських спільнотах, українській церкві та школі, Пласті, колективах з навчання українських танців. У 2000 р. Оля була одним із засновників 124-го Відділу, де обіймала багато посад, зокрема голови понад 12 років. Була зв’язковою віддалених відділів СУА та зв’язковою вільних членкинь, брала активну участь у роботі багатьох підкомітетів СУА. Крім активної праці в СУА, Оля є радником Українського народного союзу. Обіймала керівні посади в літніх дитячих таборах на «Союзівці» у 1990— 2018 рр., співпрацювала з Американсько-українською фундацією США та Канцелярією міжнародного провідництва конґресу США, щоб залучити українських лікарів до США для проходження травматологічної підготовки в лікарні ветеранів у Тампі. Пишається родиною та двома синами. Їй подобається малювати, вона захоплюється співом, танцями, полюбляє заводити нових друзів і навчатися чогось нового. Nora Mason, Council President, Branches-at-Large WEST (Branch 107, San Jose, CA) Born in Lviv, Nora was raised in various DP camps in Bavaria and eventually immigrated to Phila - delphia, where she attended Ukrainian school, Plast, and music school. Nora moved to California and settled in the Bay Area, where she raised two children. While raising a family, she worked and went to school, eventually obtaining an MBA in Organizational Development. She worked in the technology industry for 30 years before starting to teach music privately, which she still does. An active 44-year member of Branch 107, Nora has held various leadership positions and is cur - rently the Liaison for Branches-at-Large West. Her hobbies include hiking, reading, gardening, and spending time with her two great-grandsons. Нора Мейсон, зв’язкова віддалених відділів західних реґіонів Нора народилась у Львові; виховувалась у різних таборах у Баварії до часу, поки еміґрувала до Філядельфії, де від- відувала українську школу, Пласт і музичну школу. Нора переїхала до Каліфорнії та оселилася в Бей Ерії (Bay Area). Виховала двох дітей. Вже маючи сім’ю, працювала та ходила до школи, де здобула ступінь маґістра ділового адмі- ністрування з організаційного розвитку. Перед тим, як почати приватно викладати музику (чим Нора займається й досі) протягом тридцяти років працювала в індустрії технологій. Упродовж 44 років Нора є активною членкинею 107-го Відділу, Сан-Хосе; вона обіймала керівні посади та наразі є зв’язковою віддалених відділів західних реґіонів. Її зацікавлення — це проходи, читання книжок, садівництво та проведення часу з двома правнуками. Natalie Santarsiero, Council President, Branches-at-Large EAST (Branch 136, Naples, FL) Born and raised in Lorain, OH, Natalie graduated from the University of Toledo with a BS in Pharmacy. She lived in Buffalo, NY, for 30 years, where she owned and operated an independent pharmacy with her husband. Natalie has served in various leadership positions in many community and pharmacy organizations. She has been actively involved in the UNWLA since 1989, serving as president of Branch 97 (Buffalo) and treasurer of the Central NY Regional Council. Currently, she is president of Branch 136 in Naples and liaison for Branches-at-Large East. She also serves as treasurer and liaison of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Mission Parish in Naples, FL. Natalie enjoys playing golf, gourmet cooking, and wine tasting.
