14 OUR LIFE • September-October 2024 Знайомтеся з нашими новими лідерами Meet Our New Leaders Natalie Pawlenko, President (Branch 98, Holmdel/Middletown, NJ) Natalie served as UNWLA National President in 2021–2024. Her undergraduate degree in psychol - ogy (Rutgers University) was complemented by her master’s degree in social policy (University of Toronto) and an advanced certificate in Gestalt psychotherapy. Her career in public health and health care spanned 25 years, and she served the Ontario Ministry of Health and the NJ Depart - ment of Health in senior positions. Natalie resides in New Jersey with her husband, Dr. Yuri Mis- chenko. She is passionate about Ukrainian naïve folk art, especially Petrykivka, traveling, singing, and reading science fiction from around the world. Наталія Павленко, голова Наталія обіймала посаду голови СУА у 2021—2024 рр. Її ступінь бакалавра з психології (Рат - ґерський університет) був доповнений маґістерським ступенем із соціальної політики (Торонтський університет) та сертифікатом з гештальт-психотерапії з поглибленим вивченням. Її кар’єра в галузі охорони здоров’я та ме- дичного обслуговування охоплює 25 років, вона працювала в Міністерстві охорони здоров’я Онтаріо, а також у Департаменті охорони здоров’я Ню Джерзі на керівних посадах. Наталія проживає в Ню Джерзі зі своїм чолові - ком доктором Юрієм Міщенком. Наталія захоплюється українським наївним народним мистецтвом, особливо петриківським розписом, подорожує, співає та читає наукову фантастику авторів з усього світу. Oksana Lodziuk Krywulych, 1st Vice President (Branch 75, Maplewood, NJ) Born in New York City, Oksana studied at Fordham University and holds degrees in economics and psychology. She has held numerous positions in the UNWLA, most recently as UNWLA Officer-at- Large and UNWLA Fundraising Chair. As Officer-at-Large, she was responsible for coordinating all aspects of the XXXIII National Convention held in NJ this year as well as the commemorative con - vention book distributed to delegates. An active member of the Ukrainian American community, Oksana has served on the Board of Directors of the Ukrainian American Cultural Center of NJ for numerous years; as Chair of the Ukrainian festival in Whippany, NJ; and as board member of two Ukrainian dance groups. Oksana participated in a summer program in Ukraine, teaching English as a second language, and continues to advocate for Ukraine. She enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, reading, biking, and traveling. Оксана Лодзюк Кривулич, 1-ша заступниця голови Народилася в Ню Йорку, навчалася у Фордгемському університеті і має ступені з економіки та психології. Обійма- ла численні посади в СУА, останнім часом була вільною членкинею в Екзекутиві СУА та референткою СУА зі збору коштів. Як вільна членкиня відповідала за координацію всіх питань, що стосувалися XXXIII Конвенції, яка відбулася цьогоріч в Ню Джерзі, а також за підготовку Конвенційної книги, яку отримали делеґати. Активна членкиня укра- їнсько-американської спільноти, протягом багатьох років є членкинею Ради директорів Українського американ- ського культурного центру та головою Українського фестивалю у Віппані (Ню Джерзі); членкиня правління двох українських танцювальних колективів. Брала участь у Літній програмі викладання англійської мови як другої мови в Україні. Полюбляє проводити час з родиною, ходити в проходи, читати, їздити на велосипеді та подорожувати. Oka (Olga) Hrycak, 2nd Vice President – Membership (Branch 75, Maplewood, NJ) Born in Minneapolis, Oka was raised and educated in New York City and New Jersey. She obtained an Ed.D. in Educational Psychology from Rutgers University. She is a former school principal, Bar - nard College administrator, and member of various professional organizations. Oka has served as a branch Social Welfare Chair and two terms as National Social Welfare Chair. She is a former Plast member. She enjoys traveling, especially walking trips, reading, and art. Ока Грицак, 2-га заступниця голови Народилася в Міннеаполісі, Міннесота. Зростала в Ню Йорку та Ню Джерзі. Здобула ступінь доктора філософії в галузі педагогіки в Ратґерському університеті. Колишня директорка школи; адміністраторка Барнард-коледжу. Ока була референткою суспільної опіки у своєму відділі та два терміни — референткою суспільної опіки СУА. Є членкинею багатьох професійних організацій, колишня пластунка. Полюбляє подорожувати, читати та цікавиться мистецтвом. Maria Kvit Flynn, 3rd Vice President, Public Relations (Branch 75, Maplewood, NJ) Maria graduated from Ukrainian school, was a member of Plast, participated in Ukrainian dance school, and took piano lessons. In college she majored in German and russian. She lived in Vienna and worked for UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization). Maria was an active member of the Ukrainian community in Cleveland and in 2010 became a member of UNWLA Branch 8. She worked with the committee for the restoration of the Lesia Ukrainka
