Two weeks later, Museum di - rector Peter Doroshenko led vis- itors on a gallery talk and neigh- borhood walk through the East Village locations that inspired Peter Hujar’s photographs. The neighborhood is home to the Ukrainian Museum and includes many of the establishments and venues that influenced the pho - tographer during his time there. The tour gave visitors the oppor - tunity to better understand the neighborhood that inspired and shaped this exceptional pho - tographer’s artistic vision.
