Цей чудовий старо- княжий стрій відображає могутність і добробут Київської держави Х ст. Одяг складається з трьох головних частин. Туніка — з дуже довгим цікавої форми рукавом. Підтягнений і зав’язаний вище ліктя, він творить «буф», а далі переходить у вузький рукав з окремими парчевими нару- кавниками. Поверх туніки – даль- матика з широкими, всадженими округлим окатом, рукавами. Вона вузька, вирізана боками, обшита ши- рокою каймою-бортою, що показує (ілюструє, засвідчує) вплив Візантії. Оплечіє — широкий пояс з тієї борти, за яку заткано вишивану берегами хустину. Як відзнаку княжого роду, Ольга має на шиї гривню — рід коміра, плетеного із золотого дроту. Верхня частина — це мантія з до- рогої парчі, застібнена «фібулою» — округлою пряжкою на правому рамені. На голові — «мафорій» — серпанок, повитий навколо шиї, кінці якого спущені на плечі. На це вдягнений наголовник-шапочка із червоного оксамиту, прикрашена перлами. Стемпа-корона платівчата, емалевана з коштовним камінням, викінчена перлами. На ногах — білі панчохи та прикрашені сап’янці. Princely Period of Kyivan-Rus': Attire of Princess Olha ( Natalka Hloba-Zakharchenko ) This beautiful costume reflects the prosperity and power of the Ky- ivan-Rus’ state of the 10th century. The garment has three main parts: a tunic, a dalmatic, and a mantle. The tunic, a loose plain gown, was distinguished by long sleeves that were pulled upward and tied above the elbows creating a “puff,” which descended into a narrow sleeve with broad brocaded over-sleeves at the wrists. The dalmatic (worn over the tunic) shows a strong Byz- antine influence. It was narrow, slit at the sides, edged with a wide decorative border, and had bell- shaped sleeves. A broad sash matching the decorative border was worn around the waist with an embroidered handkerchief tucked into it. A wide woven gold collar (a sign of the wearer’s princely status) covered the neck and shoulders. The mantle was a cape-like outer garment worn over the tunic and dalmatic. It was made of rich bro- cade and fastened by a round clasp over the right shoulder. The head was covered with a veil wound around the head and neck and falling over the shoulders and back. A red velvet cap, decorated with pearls was worn above the veil along with a plated enamel crown set with precious stones and pearls. White hose and ornamental slippers covered the legs and feet.
