“НАШЕ ЖИТТЯ”, КВІТЕНЬ 2018 WWW.UNWLA.ORG 19 ДІЯЛЬНІСТЬ ОКРУГ І ВІДДІЛІВ СУА Branch 88 in Philadelphia Holds Annual Meeting and Elections by Irena Gramiak On February 3, 2018, UNWLA Branch 88 of the Philadelphia Regional Council held its annual meeting and elections. The meeting was held at the Ukrainian Educational and Cultural Center in Jenkintown, Pa., with 14 members in attendance. Branch 88 President Ulana Prociuk opened the meeting with a prayer. A board was elected to preside over the meeting, and the agenda was read and accepted. The minutes for the last meeting were also read and accepted. Ulana Prociuk’s president’s report was followed by reports from all committee chairs. All were duly accepted. Halyna Henhalo, president of the Philadelphia Regional Council, spoke about upcoming events, with special emphasis on the UNWLA convention that will take place in Philadelphia in 2020. A discussion arose about where in Philadelphia the convention should be held, with a focus on traffic and access and convenience. All Branch 88 members present at the meeting concurred that the convention site should be in the northern suburbs of Philadelphia. (A site near Philadelphia Airport had previously been proposed by the convention organizers but was summarily opposed by all Branch 88 members attending the annual meeting.) Following the discussion about the convention, the nominating committee presented the slate for the new board nominated for election. All nominees were voted in unanimously, and the new board com- prises the following members: President – Chrystyna Prokopovych Vice President – Tetjana Artymyshyn-Danyliw Secretary – Maria Zmurkewycz Treasurer – Olha Jakubowska Press Secretary – Irena Gramiak Archive chair – Olha Bilynsky Cultural Chair – Maria Zmurkewycz Auditing committee – Luba Kalyta, Ulana Prociuk, Lesia Stecyna Nominating committee – Natalia Mykytiuch, Donna Siletsky, Larysa Stebly Newly elected Branch 88 president Chrystyna Prokopovych thanked outgoing President Ulana Prociuk for her dedication and hard work and presented her with a gift from the branch. After all branch members expressed their desire and intent to work hard together as a team in all future Branch 88 and Philadelphia Regional Council endeavors, the meeting was adjourned.
