Concentrate on sharing information in both the Ukrainian and American communities about Ukrainian artists. Scholarship Chair: 1. Continue the activities of the UNWLA’s scholarship program. 2. Research the history of the UNWLA scholarship program in Poland in the years 1967-1977. 3. Continue the campaign of acquiring sponsors and donors for scholarships in Ukraine. Social Welfare: 1. Continue the UNWLA’s social welfare work of implementing the program “Assistance to Orphans,” “Grandmother’s Fund” and “Assistance to the Victims of Chornobyl.” 2. Continue to support and grow the program “Assistance to the Elderly” of selected geriatric centers in Ukraine. 3. Summarize and disseminate the experience of the Regional Councils and individual Branches of the UNWLA in assisting its senior members. 4. Share information regarding social welfare activities by contributing articles to the journal, “Our Life.” Culture Chair: 1. Continue the Literature and History awards program in the name of Lesia and Petro Kovalev (one year for literature, and the following year for history). 2. Continue the Translation of Shakespeare competition named after Vitaliy Keis. The competition is conducted by the University of Zaporizhzhia. (7 th year) 3. Complete the development of the Women's Studies Center at UCU and deepen the cooperation with the Diaspora for the successful development of the center. 4. Periodically, in cooperation with the editor of “Our Life,” inform our membership about the suc- cess of these programs. 5. Detect and correct mistakes regarding Ukrainian history in US informational and academic spheres. Archives Chair: 1. Organize the regional councils’ and branches’ archival materials in cooperation with the National Board Archives Chair. 2. When dissolving a branch, following consultation with the National Board’s Archives Chair, the branch should transfer organized archival materials to the National Board. 3. The National Board’s Archives Chair should publish criteria in “Our Life” as to what materials should be archived, and provide advice as to how best to store them. Public Relations Chair: 1. Take an active part in the public life of your community. 2. Establish personal contacts with local, state and government officials in order to provide infor- mation about the Ukrainian Diaspora and Ukraine. 3. Utilize all forms of mass media to disseminate information about the activities of our organization. 4. Develop and maintain a consistent look and feel of the UNWLA in social media and implement a refined official website. Education Chair: 1. Care for the development and enrichment of Ukrainian culture, language, and our ancestral faith within our own families and communities. 2. Introduce the principles of Christian morality in the everyday life of our families. Serve as a per- sonal example for our youth by modeling goodness, decency and mercy. 3. Establish ties between the Regional Councils and Ukrainian schools, to inform young people about the traditions of volunteerism and its many activities which are approaching its 100 year anniversary. 4. Expand the experience of the educational work of the UNWLA by periodically submitting mate- rials to Ukrainian language publications.
