Every organi- zation is as strong as its members, which are its “face.” The glory of the UNWLA is a reflection of the devoted and patriotic Ukrainian women who are its members. Confirmation of this was the group of women designated as the most recent UNWLA Honorary Members: Ivanna Holovata, Branch 56 Florida; Sophia Hewryk, Branch 67 Philadelphia; Ulana Zinych, Branch 108 New England; Yaroslava Rubel, Branch 64 New York; Lubomyra Sheremeta Branch 22 Chicago. Two additional women receiving this honor were Ory- sia Sushko, President of the World Federation of Ukrainian Women’s Organizations (WFUWO) and Maria Furtak of Ukraine. The energy of each of these ladies and their example and ability to unite others have resulted in great accomplish- ments for the UNWLA. They have eagerly and devotedly worked for the growth of our organiza- tion as well as to achieve its many charitable and educational goals. It should also be noted that the Convention unanimously approved the motion of Honorary President, Iryna Kurowyckyj to name Branch 1 of New York an “Honorary Branch” as it was the founding member of our organization. Election of the Officers of the National Board and Auditing Committee. Ksenia Rakowsky, chairwoman of the Nominating Com- mittee, read the list of candidates to the National Board and Auditing Committee for the years 2017 to 2020.
