Невтомними працівниками були гос подарські референтки Стефанія Вільша - нець ка, Марія Ґрабська, Анна Кілярська. Наш Відділ гордиться членкою Іванною Шкарупа, яка заслужила на Почесне членство СУА та по - над 20 років очолювала Окружну управу Огайо. З сумом хочу ствердити, що протягом 60 - ліття нашого існування 85 членок відійшли від нас у Царство Небесне. Тому сьогодні силою обставин і на прохання членок, які з різних причин не в змозі більше виконувати обов ’ язки нашої організації, змушена сьогод - ніш німи надзвичайними загальними зборами 28 квітня закрити 33 - ій Ві дділ СУА. Складаю сердечну подяку нашій ша - нов ній громаді, яка своїми щедрими датками на цілі СУА та своєю присутністю на нащих захо дах збагачувала нас духовно, морально і матеріяль но. Закінчую словами бл.п. Івана Гурка з української радіопрограми «В л асці Божій оста ваймось!» _______________ _________ ____ __ _____ BRANCH 124 MAKES EASTER WREATHS AND COOKIES On Saturday, March 1 0, 2012, the me m- bers of Branch 124 in St. Petersburg, Florida, and guests met at the church hall of Epiphany of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church. Their goal was to create handmade wreaths for sale at the an nual Easter Bazaar. Mrs. Eva Reinhardt was the fou nder and director of our wreath - mak ing fu n- draiser. Before we began making the wreaths, she provided us with many samples so that we would get ideas for the Easter wreaths. She helped us by providing direct ions and suggestions and offering a helping hand when needed. She also brought pysanky , which were beautifully decorated with a variety of motifs and designs. The wreaths were decorated with ribbon s, artificial flowers, greenery, small stalks of wheat, and , of co urse, the Ukrainian pysanky . The pa r- ticipants had fun learning the art of wre ath ma k- ing while enjoying the morning with friends, old and new. As each wreath was comp leted and put on the table, it was admired for its beauty and orig i- nality. What started off as a little of this and a li t- tle of that became beautiful pieces of art , c reated by our women. With Easter just around the co r- ner, our Ukrainian Easter wreath s would brighten many doors and special spots in our homes. Our Easter wreat hs with the colorful pysanky were so attractive and cheery that many of them were purchased imme diately. With the wreaths completed and Easter coming soon, we had asked Mrs. Vera Pestyk, a member of Branch 124, to demonstrate how to make her delicious cookies. Everyone brought their own ingredients and followed her as she shared her recipe and demonstrated the technique of making the nutty cookies. Members made their own cookie dough, packaged it in sealed containers, and took the dough home to bake. The results were fanta s- tic. We were all pleased that there was one more scrumptious treat ready for Easter . Olya Czerkas, Branch 124 President, thanked those who attended for their support and their generous donation of items. This day was filled with many learning and creative moments that all enjoyed . Vera K. Swade , Branch 124 Press Officer _______________ _________ ____ __ _____ Загальні збори 34 - го Відділу СУА, Коговз, Округа Центральний Ню Йорк Загальні збори 34 - го Відділу СУА відбу - лися 11 березня ц.р. Голова Марія Мацюк від - крила збори молитвою і привітала присутніх членок відділу та голову Окружної Управи Центрального Ню Йорку Марію Кейд. Одно - хви линною мовчанкою вшановано пам ’ ять дов голітньої членки Олі Ракочі, яка відійшла до вічности 27 грудня 2011 р. Збори проводила Галя Головецьк а, секре тарювала Оксана Цюп - ка. Нова управа відділу: Марія Мацюк – голова, Галина Лоґан – заступниця голови, Оксана Цюпка – протоколярна секретарка, Уля на Омецінська – кореспонденційна секре - тарка, Катруся Барсиґіян – скарбник. Референтки: Дарія О ’ Ніль – культ освіт - ня, Христя Кифор – суспільної опіки, Ліля Баран – мистецько - музейна, Віра Галібей, Ма - рія Гудак, Галя Головецька і Ніна Левицька – господарські. Контрольна комісія: Галя Гіберт, Слава Перрі, Марія Савків. До відділу вписалася нова членка – Окс ана Люпе. Оксана Цюпка, секретарка.
