14 WWW. UNWLA.ORG “НАШЕ ЖИТТЯ”, ЧЕРВЕНЬ 2012 As I reminded everyone of the where, when and why of the UNWLA/UCU Endowment Fund project, I was able to reconfirm o ur belief and conviction in its timeliness and necessity. O k- sana Kis ’ , who agreed to act as coordinator of the lectureship funded by the endowment, co n- structed the plan for the endowed lectureship which will include: an elective three - credit course in wome n’s/gender studies offered each semester, invited guest lecturers to present a series of le c- tures during the regular course, and a monthly seminar offered to the UCU community that will include an interactive general discussion. Ms. Kis ’ also developed a p reliminary budget for the ac a- demic year 2012 - 2013 , which is based on the pr o- jected annual interest of the endowment funds deposited at the Ukrainian Catholic Education Foundation in Chicago. Branch es 95 of Central New York and 9 0 of Philadelphia were very g e- nerous and excited to present me with $2,000 and $2,500 respectively for the Endowment. We sincerely thank them for their support. This month’s cover features the artwork of Ilona Sochynsky, member of Branch 113, whose exhibit, A Singular Vision , just o pened at the Ukrainian Museum in New York City. This is the very first exhibit of a UNWLA member, and the opening was sponsored and attended by many UNWLA members . Incidentally, some of our members have told me that many UNWLA “ hu s- bands ” enjoy reading Our Life , which is wonde r- ful, and we encourage them to keep reading! This issue comes out in a month when we remember and honor our Fathers. We wish our Fathers good health and many blessings from God as they co n- tinue to be a constant source of strength and su p- port for their children and families.
