Stadnychenko) 7 - 8:2 O UR C OVER A RT IST Irena Homotiuk Zielyk was born in Husiatyn ' , in Western Ukraine . She completed her se c- ondary education in Salzburg, Austria. In 1949, she immigrated to the United States where she finished Manor College and later received her degree in Art from the Uni versity of Connecticut . She studied under the well - known Mychajlo Moroz. Mrs. Zielyk's favorite medium is oil. She paints mostly landscapes, still lifes, and a n- tique architecture in an impressionist style. Throughout her career, she took part in group exhi bitions as well as held a number of individual exhibits in New York , Philadelphia , New Haven, and Chicago . She is a member of the Association of Ukrainian Artists in America (OMUA) and the Association of American Artists. She belongs to UNWLA Branch 64.
