“НАШЕ ЖИТТЯ”, ВЕРЕСЕНЬ 2009 19 One of the Sterilite bins donated by the UNWLA to Preserve Food & Clothing for Kyiv’s Neediest More to the point is that without dry foods and clothing to distribute, the program simply could not provide the individuals and families in Pechersk with what they most need — consumable food and clothing that is fit to wear. Since writing to the UNWLA back in December, I have seen that this was truly a gift from St. Nicholas, who is still taking care of the hungry and clothing those in need, just as he did so many centuries ago. Matthew 35 - 36: 40 also rings in my ears as I give thanks to the UNWLA: “ For I was hungry and you g ave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink . . . I needed clothes and you clothed me . . . ” I believe that the UNWLA has caught God’s eye by helping our mission. May God bless you abundantly for your generosity. Sort ing food donations Editor’s Note. Author Lilia Kovalenko is the St. Nicholas the Wonderworker ’s Food & Clothing Coordinator. We thank her for sending us this truly heartwarming story and extend our very best wishes to the priests of St. Nicholas the Wond erworker Church and the dedicated staff of the Food & Clothing Bank .
