In this month's issue of Our Life, I would like to inform you about disbursement of the donations that our members, Branches, and Regional Councils have forwarded to UNWLA Headquarters for Nastya Ovchar. The little girl from Ukraine was badly burned while trying to escape with her younger sister from a tragic house fire. Eventually, news of her ordeal came to the attention of President Viktor Yushchenko and First Lady Kateryna Yushchenko, who immediately sought the assistance of specialists in the United States. Nastya was taken to Boston's Shriners Hospital for treatment for her bums. Soon after Nastya arrived in Boston, the UNWLA was contacted by a representative of the Embassy of Ukraine in Washington, DC. Our organization was asked to coordinate collection and disbursement of contri butions designated to cover various costs associated with Nastya's stay in the United States. “НАШЕ ЖИТТЯ”, ЖОВТЕНЬ 2005 9
