There has been much favorable response to the November 2003 issue of Our Life, which commemorated the 70th anniversary of the Great Famine in Ukraine. Among the letters that the UNWLA received commending the excel lent array of archival materials that were reproduced in this issue was a particularly moving email from Italy. We are pleased to share excerpts of the writer's message with our readers: Dear friends, Please let me introduce myself. My name is Alessandro Michelucci, and I am an Italian journalist, as well as the editor of the only Italian journal dealing with minorities and human rights issues. In the past, I had some loose contacts with the late Yaroslave Stetsko and with the UK-based Ukrainian Review. ... I read about the spe cial issue your journal devoted to the Ukrainian genocide. I am aware of this important topic, so I would like to suggest a cooperation. I am going to raise Italian awareness of the Holodomor, so I am going to write an article on this topic. A review copy of the special issue of your journal dealing with the genocide would be very welcome. I am in touch with Gabriele De Rosa, the Italian scholar who recently urged the Italian Parliament to recognize the genocide; I am going to launch a similar initiative in Florence, whose municipality has a long-standing tradition of interest in human rights and social justice. The special issue of your journal will also be reviewed in "La causa dei popli," the above-mentioned jour nal dealing with human rights. (In another message, you can find the English translation of a text highlighting the special issue of your journal). Lastly, I attach a recent article dealing with the first-ever Florence Holodomor com memoration that took place yesterday in the presence of the Ukrainian Ambassador in Italy.
